Happy to see this moving forward and to eventually see it back in Milner.

Very sad - the Brewery has gone dark. The article made a statement though that I somewhat take exception to:

"To be honest I didn’t call Dub this time. I feel the passage of time has made what is happening abundantly clear. And even if he does have plans to re-open the brewery (after all he still owns the building and everything in it), whatever he creates – even if by the same name – after almost two years it will be a different entity. And, frankly, if he does I am not sure he should call it Yellowhead as that brand is likely irredeemably damaged due to its long absence."

Yellowhead branding was a brilliant choice for marketing and Gene owns the rights to use of the name for beer. I do not believe the brand name was "irredeemably damaged" what so ever. The Yellowhead name is worth something and could be sold, licensed or leveraged with another brewer or venture in that location or elsewhere or the site sold and demolished for a mixed use tower - many options Dub may be contemplating.

Dalla for lunch with a couple folks yesterday; it was delicious, quite busy and such a wonderful addition to the area.

Hit up Sherlock's with another friend for a pint of the black stuff. It was packed with soccer fans watching another game.

Bodega for pre-game tapas and cava to celebrate a friend's recent accomplishment. Nice to see Sabor open, somewhat busy and adding life back to 103st. Still believe it is the place to beat DT.

Brought some Ottawa friends who were out for the Costa Rica game to Kanto 98 for dinner on Friday. Both were impressed with the baos and tacos, as was I (not my first time there, though). Edgar Gutierrez, the OG taco chef from when Tres Carnales opened and the reason why it became so popular, opened Kanto a few years ago and I'd say the tacos are among the city's best.

Kanto is truly a hidden Chinatown gem.

Had a preview of the new restaurant at the AGA - May. Glad to see something back there.

https://www.restaurantmay.ca/

Very tasty sharable menu by Chef Doreen Prei, good cocktails. Opens today, special brunch menu on Saturday for the Holiday Light-Up in Churchill Square.

^That space conversion is at the SW corner of the Intact Insurance building, right next to the Executive Lofts building (NE corner of Jasper & 109 St).

What kind of restaurant will set up shop there?

Not sure what kind, but it'll be a decent size for sure.
