Yeah that building should probably be preserved given its age. I had no idea it was from the early 1960's and had always just assumed the facade was added in the 80's or 90's to an older building. If that metalwork is really MCM design it should absolutely be preserved since that's pretty radical and funky for that era.
Is the facade totally original or was the metal added later? It just looks so new, like it could have been built yesterday, so I have a hard time believing it's original. It could just be one of those buildings like Inland Steel that doesn't age at all in which case it absolutely needs to never be torn down.
