Interesting article in the FP about the installation 400 energy-conducting solar panels, apparently a first of their kind in North America. The glass panels layer solar, thermal and electronic components. And they are iridescent, so changing colours.

Kind of a rehashed article. They announced this years ago - would be the first in NA, mimicking what universities in Scandinavian countries do on their buildings... yada yada yada

I seriously hope someone from Manitoba Film & Music sees these photos. When this is done it would make an amazing location for any film or TV project that is looking for a modern office setting. Can you imagine the tracking shots around that railing?

RRC will be masters of the film industry by then. NDC has had several large scale films shoot there in the last year, and currently Bring It On 3 is shooting there since in looks like a high school. Also the entire Princess side of the Roblin Centre has been turned into a set to go along with the fake buildings across the street. They've recreated all the storefronts on the interior as they originally would have been, it's so cool. Makes me wish RRC actually used all or some of the doors on Princess for... anything. Worth going to see.

I just want to say you guys at Number 10 have been doing unbelievable work lately. You guys and Cibinel are definitely my favourite firms in the city atm (no offence 5496 y’all are great too.)

On another topic, what do y’all think the effect this project will have on the immediate vicinity of this neighborhood? Hopefully a few surface lots can be filled nearby for some student or affordable housing. Hell additional residents of any age in the area would be plus.

Awesome, I will have to go check it out in person...from LinkedIn Diamond Schmitt

I thought the artwork was cut from the project. Glad it made it. Looks amazing.

Awesome.

Is that just like a wrap style decal put on the panel. Like one does to a car? Seems the easiest way without getting overly expensive custom metal panels.
