a rendering was just leaked today along with more information on Hines planned residential tower at Market Square park. it will be 25 stories of residential units on top of a 7 story garage, on top of a level of ground floor retail.

Of all of the things going up in Houston, this is the most important one to me. It's a game changer for downtown... hopefully.

Market Square Park is the central point for most folks who live downtown (The Rice, Hermann Lofts, Hogg Palace, Bayou Lofts, etc...). The renovation of the square to add things residents would use like dog runs, playgrounds, and Niko Niko's was the catalyst to get things going. Now, there are all sorts of new restaurants and neighborhood type bars that might make it for the long haul and be attractive to potential residents unlike the club circuit of the early 2000s.

I cannot wait to see this one rise!

According to that it's taller than 359 feet.

That link also shows the height as 359 feet 10 inches to the main roof with an extra 21 feet 8 inches to the mechanical penthouse roof. So it comes to 381 feet 6 inches.

Main roof according to the section diagram is 368'-10", mechanical penthouse adds 21'-8", for a total of 391'-6". The diagram appears to count 0'-0" at grade, note the height of the retail space in the 2 different section diagrams. Good enough for me.

You're right! It does say 368. It was too pixelated for me to tell. So 391 feet 6 inches should be the height. 359 feet seemed too short for a 33-story building.

Seems about right for a 25-story residential on top of 7-floors of parking.

This one's fairly tall, but it might be screened in part by the International Tower, depending on its placement.

It's so awesome that all the shit parking lots around market square are getting developed and that they aren't tearing any historic buildings down to do so.
