Nice view of the stretch from Charles to MacNab.

And yes, Union Gas Building apparently topped with a variant on the original flame trademark.

Is it downtown only? I kinda like the hanging signs.

Trolleybuses in Gore Park 1991

Came across this video on YouTube showing some shots of the electric trolleybuses in May 1991. Some nice shots of the Eaton Centre/Jackson Square/Gore Park area (starting around 3:30 mark).

Video Link

Source: Michael Taylor on YouTube (link)

Not sure if this video has been posted in this thread yet, apologies if it has been already. The video's author has some additional videos of the Barton trolley route from around the same time on their page.

Main Street used to be such a nice, urban street

Anecdotally, it's a safety issue. Yeah, ridiculous. Love the signage.

I think somebody posted it some time ago but don't apologise, it's a great video.

I love the old trolley buses. Quiet. Quick off the mark. No noxious fumes.

Yet another bad move by the City or Region or whomever was in charge back then.

One day that lot will be developed, and it'll be a great day.

I'm so happy that building still stands. It's really unique and gorgeous.
