They could always sell the sales center as a 1 floor unit...

Bid docs are out for budget pricing on the Rosevelt Collection tower

via Roosevelt collection partners.

That's not awful. Will add a bit of depth to the skyline adjacent to the low/mid-rise portion of Riverline. I'm still amazed at how poorly configured Roosevelt Collection is every time I'm there, so any change is a good thing...

^Not sure how having a new tower tucked behind one corner will remedy that.

I was recently told that Roosevelt Collection had refused to allow a Divvy station there. Drive over or don't bother coming.

Well, for one a tower blocking views to the north might put me a bit more at ease about the idiocy of configuring the project to build the movie theater on the north side rather than above the entrance to the south, blocking a panoramic view of the Loop from within the mall and leaving open a view of the auto sewer on Roosevelt and the vast void of nothingness beyond.

I've been wondering when something was going to happen with this.

And yeah, the car-centric nature of that mall is baffling. They could've made the car entrances/exits underground much closer to Roosevelt and made the entire mall plaza pedestrian-oriented like you might see at an LA mall, but God forbid someone might not be able to get dropped off at the culdesac directly in front of Showplace Icon.

They've also lowered all their prices for movies based on the fear of losing customers because parking is now paid (a point they drive home with multiple pre-movie screen advertisements). I really enjoyed paying $8 per ticket for me and my girlfriend walking over for a movie from three blocks away.

for those still struggling to find the dedicated thread for the 110 N wacker project, here's the link again:

CHICAGO | 110 N Wacker | 800 FT | 52 FLOORS

it's in the highrise proposals sub-forum. it won't appear on the dedicated chicago projects page until one of the site owners decides to add the chicago tag to it (which always takes some time), so until then, you're gonna have to find it the old fashioned way of just clicking on the highrise proposals sub-forum.

Yeah it sucks that we lost those buildings, but I would imagine a rental tower gets thrown up instead fairly quickly, its not the greatest location for condos with all the other condos you could buy in better spots for that price point

Per Crains: 1,700-foot tower proposed for Thompson Center site. Demo begins in Feb. Foundation to be complete by end of 2017. To include a Casino which is estimated to bring Illinois out of the red within 2 years, Observation deck, top 40 floors budget hotel, free nightly stays to Chicago residents. Not a pipe dream at all. Can't wait to see this baby rise!

Its a pretty rendering, but you may as well file this right next to the Old Post Office Supertall cluster plans...

A lot to digest in this post. I don't have access to the article but if the Gov is claiming the casino will bring IL out of the red in two years, then I have a bridge to sell you too.

Or Chicago gets another Block 37 development.

But you believed the part about there being free night stays in the hotel for Chicago residents? I have a book to sell you on how to read sarcasm on the internet.
