Odd that the map's highest category is "30-40%+" when there are now visible "minority" figures close to 80%. It doesn't seem especially informative to have Oakville the same as Markham when their respective figures are 30% and 78%.

What can we infer about the concentration of Apple trees in East York/Rosedale vs. the cluster of peach trees in what appears to be the St. Clair/Dufferin area?

Two patterns I notice are that the concentration of Apple Trees corresponds pretty closely with the former borders of East York; while Scarborough looks to be largely comprised of pear trees (you can see the apple vs. pear line where their border is). The only thing I can infer from that was that many of these must have been a result of pre-amalgamation municipal planting efforts.

The Peach trees around Dufferin & Eglinton on the other hand, I have no idea.

What is so special about 64 deg, 20 min west longitude?

Many people assume (rightly) that Canada is a horizontal country oriented along the long axis of the northern US border - kind of a horizontal Chile.

There is however one narrow strip in Canada where the country has some north-to-south heft:

Along a narrow strip centred at about 64 deg 20 min W, a north/south line will pass through five Canadian provinces and one territory.

In order south to north, such a line would pass through NS, NB, PE, QC, NL and finally NU.

Neat eh........

It always seems so curious that Prince Edward Island is an entire province while Anticosti Island is some guy's old hunting lodge.

Indeed. If I'm not mistaken, I believe Anticosti is actually a tad larger than PEI. It's hillier and less fertile than PEI, and would have a more severe climate, but it's a shame there's only a few hundred people living on the island.
