Yeah well although these don't look detailed, they are taking me a very long time! Im trying to do as detailed as possible without getting bored. Anyway, it probably looks less detailed because im not using textures.

Very nice - your skill is already improving / evolving. Keep playing around with different cities and concepts until you hit on the right one - and don't get caught up in the amount of comments, do this for the enjoyment of doing it.

Thanks Dac! I always find yours and Jhowards comments to be the most thoughtful.
And some others

I like your attention to detail. Textures, if they are well-implemented, can deliver amazing results. Nevertheless, I'd rather see a slowly designed project like this in detail than lots of boring square cubes painted with building textures in an effort to make a model city quickly. Keep it up. If you maintain this pace and level of detail, your city will be awesome.

I think you ought to focus on low-rises and neighborhoods. We've got countless skyscraper models here, but we seem to lack plain single story houses with yards.

I'm going to second JHoward on what he said.

Also, I hope you find some short-cut ways of getting what you want done with the program. You'll see that things go so much faster with a few tricks of the trade. So far, the area looks good and I like your street scene. Looking forward to more!

P.S. Sorry that this is my first comment on your city. I've been following it though, as I do the few other updates anymore.

I will certainly do low rises but I don't know about houses with yards. They require a lot of work, take up a lot of space and you need heaps and heaps of them to make a city. For now, I think i'll just stick to the CBD. But thanks a heap for your input, it really is appreciated. Right now i'm working on a set of row-houses/ townhouses/ terraces and they will be 3 stories high.

Thankyou!

Yeah, this is really coming along great!

You know, you could create 3/4 different models of houses, then you could copy and paste them, wahla!- you have a few hundred houses.

Can't wait to see this city expand!

Hey Welcome! Very good start! It's promising how you manage both the detailed street (with the shops, etc) and the whole geographical placement. Both extremes of the scale.

Eager to see how you evolve! Post!

Thanks Flamesrule!

Ive finished the terraces! Here they are!

The local artist, Beanleigh WiggleBottom, has begun sketching some of the views around the city.

And somehow he managed to get on top of the clock tower/ town hall
Here is his sketch trollol.

Here is a new building. It still needs some colour though.

Very detailed, better than anything I could do anyways.

I'd love to see some skyscrapers in there. They're what this whole forum is about, you know!

Thanks! It's taking me along time because it's hard to think of a design.
