NASHVILLE | 12th & Division | 450FT | 38 FLOORS

Buckingham Co. out of Indianapolis has proposed the tallest building for The Gulch district as they're currently building Aertson over in Midtown at 21st Ave & Broadway. At 38 floors and roughly 450ft in height, it'll be one of the tallest towers proposed in the boom cycle we're currently in. Architect is SOM and their only other design in Nashville is the Tennessee Tower downtown.

This will be an almost exclusively residential building with retail space at the bottom. Project goes before MDHA for review within the next week or two.

Unanimously approved at the MDHA meeting today. Developers will consult and take input from nearby properties, most notably Terrazzo because of the potential shade cast on their amenities deck late in the day.

next up is Metro Codes for a height exemption.

This could start really quickly since there is really very minimal site prep that would be required.

Time runs out for proposed 38-story Gulch skyscraper

Quote:
A developer has lost the ability to build its proposed 38-story residential skyscraper in downtown Nashville's highest-profile urban neighborhood.

Buckingham's ability to build that 38-story tower has expired. The company's plans won approval from the Board of Zoning Appeals in mid-October 2015. That permission had a two-year shelf life, and it has lapsed because the company did not obtain building permits in that timespan (Buckingham didn't even request such permits).
