An FAA permit was filed for the building itself showing the heights at each of its corners. Part of the reason for the change in these numbers is where on the building they're measuring from, but also because there's about a 15 foot difference in elevation change on that block.

517 feet, 514 feet, 550 feet, 581 feet.

The site plan hasn't been approved and released yet, so we have yet to see the final one. There have been a couple of different sets of elevations showing some deviation in heights of 4 to 8 feet. The design remains mostly the same, and excavation work continues with them drilling for the slurry walls. This building is surrounded by the river on one side and a creek on another.

If this was being built in London, the locals would have already nicknamed it the "Flock of Seagulls Tower".

The fact that it's conceivable that this tower could be built and bestowed a nickname in London, is a testament to how immediately iconic this building will be. It's Austin's Gherkin!

Actually, we've been calling it "the sail".

Ha! It's what happens when a sailboat has too much of Austin's world-famous BBQ. The new renderings look fantastic.

Austin currently has more office buildings underway downtown than residential. Four office towers are u/c or in site prep. There's two proposed that will stand taller than The Independent.

6th + Guadalupe

848' ft and planned to start this year.

The Republic

709'

There's also word that WeWork is planning a 1 Million sq ft office tower.

6th + Guadalupe is all office? I thought it was office and residential.
