Do the glass panels ride the exterior elevator to the correct floor then get attached to the tower crane for placement only? How many on average can be installed on a Good day? And do the glass panels come to the site with the terra cotta attached or is that done on site? Thanks for the info.

I remember seeing a post awhile back showing the original planned topping out date and the new planned topping out date of July 2019. July 2019 doesn't seem like it will happen but I cannot remember the original plan. Was it 11/19?

It was originally going to be topped on 1/10/2020, then it was moved forward to 7/16/2019. I believe it can top between these two dates

Goes to show that the U.S. can build quite fast and on a large scale if the right team is in place. 1 Vandy from a time-table standpoint has been a outstanding. Good project management in place.

Thanks for sharing. This interesting video has helped me appreciate 1 Vandy more, especially the final part about sustainability. It's an impressively cutting-edge skyscraper. I still wish it were taller, but the video has convinced me that height isn't everything.

the overall form is looking good right now that it's basically topped out. The crown will make or break it.

Looking forward to seeing what the night lighting looks like on this in the real world as it moves closer to completion!

Topped Out (?) with well over 150' of crown left, and 100' spire left? (Yes the floors are topped out) You are a bit anxious I think. Agreed, on the make it or break it thought though. So far this is a beautiful and elegant tower! I too hope the Crown is as great.

How much if any of the crown will be "internally" lit at night?

naah, the crown will not make or break it.

most importantly, it certainly has no issues leasing, as of july 1st: 'In SL Green Realty’s latest annual report, company CEO Marc Holliday told shareholders that leasing at its under-construction One Vanderbilt has been moving so swiftly that the company almost got boxed out of its own building.' asks have been $150-200 per sq ft, with the midtown average at $88.20.

also, realtor hyperbole aside, the base is outstanding and quite an engineering achievement with all the work below ground. not to mention the glass, mid-tower form and ceramic finishes are also sharp and top shelf.

this one is already quite a sight and a handsome, bright tower. try see it in person someday and you can judge for yourself.

I was looking at the Midtown Cam via Earthcam and its crazy to think it has that much left given the dominance on Chrysler already. Exciting times! And to think 270 Park will be bulkier.
