The office building looks nice in the rendering, but the rental tower (?) looks like it'll be spandrel city.

How does spandrel look from the inside of the unit? Does it look like floor-to-ceiling windows, or something else?

? How do ugly buildings look from the inside? Probably the same as aesthetically pleasing towers?

This project will bring some completeness to the King George block with the park, this project, then Hub across the street, and original Infinity/Park Place developments.

Can't wait to see it start.

Should this thread be renamed "Holland Parkside"?

Agreed. I think that all of those projects plus Holland Parkside are going to help Surrey realize that King George Blvd, itself (like from 94a Ave up to University drive), can attract similar developments to the rest of Surrey Central; and that KGB doesn't have to be viewed as a traffic barrier (not that it would get widened anyways).

With the Georgetown development pretty much bordering KGB and the Whalley district being proposed alongside KGB, I am pretty excited to see how KGB will evolve in the future.

Should have been updated long ago, along with the tower heights in the title too.

Liking the form and massing of these. Refreshing change from point towers.

Would be nice if the ground level retail space is actually taken by a large format bar / restaurant as depicted. These types of uses will bring energy to the area, instead of your standard bank, drug store, sandwich shop, bubble tea, etc. This is actually one location where a bar space might work, given its the ground floor of an office building, offices across the street, so less likely to be a noise issue.

I've heard they are aiming to start construction this summer.

If I am not mistaken, "Holland Parkside" is a project on Old Yale Road behind the central mall.

The Holland Pointe project is on 98th and King George Road.

Yes, you are mistaken. This thread is for Holland Parkside, by Century Group. (As others have noted, the thread needs renaming). Those renders at the top of the page are the revised scheme. It dates back 13+ years, and was once upon a time called Holland Pointe. A realtor jumped the gun (a lot) and set up a webpage as if there was something for sale - which there never was. Townline have a different project called The Holland that they're selling. That's your first link.

Perhaps the mods can change the title to include the intersecting streets to both threads.

Ex. [Surrey] Holland Pointe (KG+98av) | 160m | 50, 35, 31 fls | Proposed

Maybe that will make things less confusing for people

This project has been delayed for so long, I didn't want to get my hopes up until there's holes in the ground. But it's nice watching the trees being removed as a first step

They removed quite a few trees. The area looks so weird and open now when driving northbound into surrey central on KGB. Especially as soon as you get closer to the sky train tracks.

Since the subject property is so high compared to KGB, will the finished buildings be dug down so as to sit at street level, or park level?
