New rendering perspectives

The St. Louis Holocaust Museum will expand 35,000 square feet.

Groundbreaking on the two-story, $18 million museum expansion and endowment project is expected to begin in late May and be completed by the end of 2021.

The expanded museum will have its own dedicated entrance and feature a much larger exhibit space to help enhance its permanent collection of more than 12,000 artifacts.

Other additions will include a flexible multipurpose room that can accommodate up to 250 people, an expanded learning center, two classrooms, a library and reading room, archival space, a memorial for the Jewish War Veterans and a 3,000-square-foot area for rotating exhibits.

Land is being prepped to build 4440 Manchester in The Grove. The Grove has fast-emerged as one of St. Louis' most gay-friendly and entertainment neighborhoods.

Below, 4400 Manchester, which is about two or three years old, will be down the block. 4400 and 4440 have the same local St. Louis developers.
The projects are in the vicinity of CORTEX, Washington University Medical Center, Midtown, Central West End and Forest Park.

A few more project updates.

Iron Hill is Moving Forward
The Planning Commission reviewed a PUD zoning request for the property at Grand and Chouteau signifying the first true step forward for the development. Cullinan Properties will visit the TIF Commission this month, they plan on acquiring the property in the Summer and they plan to start on Phase 1 (Blocks 200, 300, 501, 501, Parking Garage, and infrastructure) this fall.

Q2 Start Eyed for Forest Park-Debaliviere TOD
Quote:
If all goes according to plan, Indianapolis based Pearl Companies, could break ground on their long-awaited Forest Park-Debaliviere TOD project in the 2nd Quarter of this year.

At a Skinker-Debaliviere neighborhood meeting last night, the updated plans were presented to neighbors and the public. The full scope of the project became clear as multiple new renderings, including the one at the beginning of the story, were shown off.

I really feel like St. Louis is at a tipping point, the amount of new construction and major developments are really changing the way people look at the city.

Yes, it is new construction. Nice, but still too small, in my opinion. My hunch is that Lowe's may/could build a new hotel/residence tower with in Phase III. I think they have underestimated how popular their hotel will be.

See more renderings and read more about Chouteau Greenway plans here.

Also read Great Rivers Greenway.

There's a lot to be excited about here in St.Louis. The city is definitely at a tipping point for even greater things to come. Hopefully in a few or so years we can start getting more companies making a push downtown i feel the momentum is there. Im thinking we'll begin to see more high rises being planned and proposed once the few remaining large vacant buildings are all rehabbed.. The only new construction i can think of Downtown so far is BPV phase 2 and there'll likely be a Phase 3 The Moxy Hotel and the Soccer Stadium but thats Downtown West but i still consider it Downtown. Anyways 2020s should be a great decade

So the largest vacant historic buildings i can only think of Downtown and west are
Chemical
Butler Bros.
Jefferson Arms
Chemical
Chouteau's Landing cluster
others
AT&T high rise
Millenium hotel
Hopefully we can get all of these checked this decade

Coming late Summer 2020. Keep in mind this was a motor/electric parts plant. Last photo: A Westin Element rises in Midtown.

IKE Smart City signs are now popping up around the city.

This particular sign is in Old North St. Louis - an historic neighborhood just north of downtown St. Louis.

Famous for Crown Candy Kitchen (Jimmy Fallon; Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives etc.), Old North is one of St. Louis' oldest neighborhoods and one of the oldest west of the Mississippi River. It is seeing some revitalization.

Hello all....
I've been following this thread for a couple years and LOVE all of the updates on the projects and proposals that have been going on in the St Louis area. So, Thx for all of you who continually post up info for the rest of us!

I've read somewhere in the last couple of days that Top Golf is looking at a site near midtown/cortex for a 2nd area location. Has anyone else heard of this possible development?
