Do I see a hint of light in the crown or is that just a gimmick? Maybe the crown will be light and this is a tease.

Republic Square will soon be in the shadow of giants...What is the story with that public parking lot/garage between 6xGuad and Republic Square?

I thought this was a lit crown when I first saw it as well. Man, just imagine the skyline in the 2020s...

Hope this tower's crown doesn't end up looking like The Independent's. We were all sold a bill-of-goods with that one.

I have been making deals with myself for years, I tell myself if they build this one... Frost... Austonian and some others, then I'll be satisfied with this city's SL. I lived in both Mpls and Seattle for brief periods after my 1st brief stay in Austin, and thought they sure beat Austin, a city/metro that is nearly as big. I think if the Republic, 6XG, and a few others get done I might stop being such a hypocrite and be "nearly" as satisfied. At least until the nest wave gets started!

Never be satisfied.

Even if things look perfect, it can still be even better... Always keep wanting more.

Duda/paine designed this tower whiich is the same firm that designed Frost Tower....so methinks they aren't gonna cheap out on this one either And if they do, they'll at least find a way to make it look good.

Duda/Paine also designed 405 Colorado, herein known as the Molar, so there's that.

The good news about the crown on this one is that the seamless design requires it to match the building so at least we won't get a chain link fence at the top, even if they do cheap out at the end. The worst thing that could happen is it won't be lit.

Unless it gets redesigned, heaven forbid.

Invisalign, Delta Dental, and many others are really missing out on slapping their name on a form-fitting HQ.

Sorry, but no. We are not calling this beauty: The Incisor.

Returning to to crown lighting. The crown is already on this design in the form of a continuation of the glass curtain wall. What is the difficulty or additional cost in illuminating the crown. Am I a simpleton in thinking that just adding a few lights on the roof would make a glowing crown at night? Why wouldn't they illuminate the Crown?

The site plan has been approved and released. It beat 6XG. The elevations haven't been added yet.

The final elevations were released. They are on page 52. There was no change in height at 46-stories and 708'.

Thanks for the update and tracking this so closely. Does the elevations being released signal a step forward in the site plan approval process?

The site plan was approved last week. Elevations are generally posted online within a few days of approval.

Same here! I am so hoping this doesn't go the way of 99 trinity. She's so front and center. Total icon for the skyline.
