Haven't even been in for a viewing but likely 2 units in the 'old' building, demolish the addition, build a single car garage with a two-floor unit above it where the addition is for myself. Sick of shoveling out my car!

Can't help but wish that The Wentworth was built on the King's Square surface lots. Would have been perfect.

Your wish may partially come true. Percy Wilbur (developer of The Wentworth) purchased the Woolworth building on King’s Sq. and word on the street he doesn’t plan on saving it. Apparently sprinklers were going off for days and nobody could reach owners in BC. Once turned off there was 8’ of water in lower level causing damage to concrete and steel. He will probably use Spitfire again for a design. Rumour he’ll go 11 stories but not sure about that. Most likely 8 to match Admiral Beatty building. There shouldn’t be any legitimate opposition because the height of other buildings on the square and location on NW corner shouldn’t block sunlight. Regardless whether it’s 7 or 11 stories it will be prominent on skyline due to incline of hill. That along with new Wellington building will fill in some skyline gaps.

It's nice to have something that isn't directly in the core of Uptown though, need to spread that development around

But all these Uptown projects look to be keeping the Uptown vibe, and contain some nice exterior finishes!

Absolutely, but with infill projects occurring throughout the Uptown the surface lots at King's Square N are sticking out more and more. Surely they'll be dealt with eventually if the market holds. In my head i'm assuming that once projects like Telegraph and Wentworth are wrapped that attentions will be focused more on the Union/Waterloo area. Available space is running out south of King's Sq., so it makes sense that development will be pushed north. Surely a project like St. Vincent's would be included in this, as well as more refurbs on Union and a few infills. Union has the bones to become a very decent high street.

Regarding Union, the Union/Charlotte corner is the worst spot in the western portion. Two huge vacant lots, an ugly office tower that could benefit from re-cladding, and the even uglier R Bar. That piece of lawn beside the Loyalist House is weird too- it should have a twin next door!

Wilbur's refurbishment project at that intersection was a great step in the right direction but the whole intersection has got a long way to go. It's a popular entrance into the core too for people traveling from the north end and Rothesay/ Quispamsis so it's the first impression for a lot of people. Hopefully, someone will pick up these lots soon!

Burying the lines on the rest of Union, resurfacing the street and redoing the sidewalks would dramatically enhance the pedestrian experience and attract developers.

Speaking of Union, the Tool Library is relocating to the old Princess St Laundromat at 102. That property and the one next door to it, an old hair salon, seem to have just been sold. Not sure if the tool library bought it. Hopefully they spruce it up a bit.

At just 4 stories high with another 3 to go the Wentworth is now visible from the harbour bridge which gives us our first indication of its future presence on the skyline.

Anyone looking for a good deal on a reno project? I just saw crack-dealing squatters getting kicked out at 115 Carmarthen. Talked to the cops and the owner wants nothing to do with the building. He'd probably let it go cheap. It's the ugliest building within two blocks either way so you would have a nice view while restoring it.

DM if interested.
