Nice observation! Looking at that photo, one can get a good idea of where Market Street slices between the two patterns. I wonder what other major downtown city grids are structured in this unique manner?

^ I disagree - most people looking at that photo would have no idea where Market street is.

Trio -Bus Bridge, Salesforce and 181 Fremont

The bus bridge does not excite me, but it does make for an interesting photo with the skyline.

Most people on a local skyscraper forum would be able to tell. I agree with you that people unfamiliar with SF or the general public at large would have difficulty.

Keep 'em coming. The more the merrier!

On another note, I thought there was mention somewhere by the developer that the Salesforce Tower skin would be completed by the end of July and here we are with sporadic windows still missing and the crown unfinished. Disappointed!

Seattle has multiple street grids that abut the downtown grid, but most of downtown is mostly uniform. That's the only one that pops into my mind (and only because I'm there right now).

I think the missing windows must have been damaged/cracked during transportation. Not sure where the windows came from, China or US, but from the randomness of the windows that are missing, it seems to be an issue with the windows not being ready, rather than a plan to move furniture through the holes, or any other intended purpose.

Hoover St in LA has the same city grid that dissects Koreatown and Downtown LA, but it doesn't have the same unique distinction in terms of how the skyscrapers are aligned.

It's okay. Wilshire Grand had sporadic windows on the facade and on the sail when it topped out last year in September. It wasn't until March when all windows were installed before LED light testing.
