This is awesome design and perfect for the area, it's nice to see Tricar is trying to build more attractive towers. Unfortunately Masonville residents are going to give them hard time and try to shorten its height.

Sounds like typical nimbyism.....good grief. You can't just claim a project will add a lot more traffic to an already strained intersection if it's built....when they build the new bus transit line, it'll ease some of that traffic out, and over time that intersection will become busy anyways through DENSIFICATION.

I'm sure this'll be chopped by a few floors though.

It quacks like a duck, it walks like a duck and it looks like a duck ..... it is nimby.

Never fails. Same pathetic reasons get hauled out.

Too much traffic? - it's one block north of the intersection of Richmond and Fanshawe. One of the busy intersections in the city.

The shadows? - Sounds like a horror movie. Those shadows destroy our souls.

The NIMBY crowd up there should be thankful it's not 34 or 45 stories.

Sometimes I think developers should shoot for the moon with a Toronto-sized proposal and then scale it back to 22-25 stories once NIMBY comes along, so that these things get built.

This was the counter argument by Tricar to the story of the NIMBYs

http://lfpress.com/news/local-news/d...developer-says

Carapella has some good points.

Good for Tricar to come out per usual I must add and bring forth logical data to support their plan.

For the NIMBY people in the area I would like to hear legitimate arguments, what would the difference be 18 vs 22 stories? What would the point be to "scale it back". If adding 200+ people is a problem wouldn't adding 180 people bring the same issues?

I see Tricar winning this argument.

If I were to guess, it's basically people who don't want London to bear any resemblance to Toronto.

Alas for them, every city in Ontario that grows and progresses starts to take on Toronto-like characteristics eventually.

The development at 230 North Centre Road is likely to be an upscale development, so it's definitely not going to hurt real estate values in the area.
People whose units face south and are on the upper floors are going to get a fantastic view of London overall. That's gotta be worth something.

Tricar to pitch 18s option of the project.

Local NIMBY's will still protest and bitch and moan.

Ranting here won't do much but...

You live in a growing city. You should expect growth and development. Dense development usually is very good for a city (as long as there is adequate infrastructure to support it).

If you don't like that, move to a small town or something?

Well it's going to be 18 stories now, if built at all.
