Wow! Beautiful

Although I count a little over 40 for the floor count from where they're visible (and it doesn't look like they're over 20 where they're not) so maybe it really is 58 floors/1400' now. Either way it's a beautiful building and much taller than its neighbors.

^ I'd stick with the DOB permits for now. As with the rest of the supertalls going up these days (both residential and commercial), it will likely be marketed as having more floors.

They are still removing debris from old buildings. Excavation starting soon.

Well, where bedrock is an option. If not, you can build piles!

Some idea...

Not as deep as the actual LIRR platforms...

Agreed. Especially when you consider the newer "truncated" renders are significantly less detailed on the upper half of the tower than the renders of the past year or so...

I'm dubious about the height cut, especially given the lack of publicity compared to other towers that received similar height cuts. (Dear God I hope I'm right)

I love the above render from the Bryant Park angle, and it's nice to see 500 fifth finally getting some love; it's usually literally overshadowed by the ESB.

Some evidence points to the building now being ~1400 to the tip and 50 something floors but we are still not sure, the article(s) could have been wrong.

I'd go with what KPF states:

Quote:
CLIENT
SL Green Realty Corporation
TYPE
Civic + Cultural, Mixed-Use, Office, Retail, Supertall
SIZE
162,600 m2 / 1,750,000 ft2
HEIGHT
458 m / 1,501 ft

Maybe pinnacle (lightning rod) but KPF states 1,501 ft. We'll probably find out in the months to come as this project moves forward. Demo/site-prep have been occurring for a while now.

Yes. But beyond that, we have the actual DOB filings which is accurate until a revised filing surfaces, which hasn't and isn't likely to.
