Looks nice.

I think this one is topped out now. Still might be a mechanical penthouse but that would be it.

Visible in the skyline, poking up from behind the Citadel:

I've wondered how much some of these buildings outside of downtown will become part of the traditional skyline views. It depends on the camera and viewing location. From some angles, particularly with a telephoto lens, buildings in the North End or South End look like part of downtown.

This might become much more noticeable with new 30+ storey buildings like Richmond Yards or Robie and Carleton. Aside from just being taller they are higher in elevation.

Coming in down Woodland or the 102, Monaghan Square and Point North are the first thing you see. The area around Robie and Young is going to be looking like the 'new downtown' in a decade or two with lots of new high-rises.

Here's a great shot from Dexel's Twitter Account. Also notable is the excavator beginning to break down the old Armco HQ and the progress on the Atlantica.

This area is going to become much busier. There's not only The George and the one across the street but the new hospital and the St. Pat's site plus all the other stuff farther down Quinpool or Robie. These projects must represent a considerable increase in density over what was there before.

This one is more prominent than I had expected!

BTW, first I've seen of that huge new signage on Quinpool Tower.

The George Residence

Just reposting the project website. The floor plans and availability are now online and only 16 units are left. Looks like the building will be occupied in May 2021.

The revamped Atlantica and The George are a good match.

My partner and I are looking at a few units for May/June in this building and I'm so excited. I think it's a gorgeous building, in a great location. It's pretty sad that the Vuze is charging anywhere from $1425-$2200/mo for a 1 br and a new build can start at $1525. It's absolutely wild that Templeton can charge that much when the Vuze is still under construction for the next few years AT LEAST.

Sorry, that was my little Vuze rant, and just saying how pumped I am do potentially be moving into a new build. it's so exciting

Absolutely! As the hospital extension, and the rest of Robie St gets filled in this area will look completely different.

It's common to look at projects as being in the North End, South End, downtown, etc., but Robie Street itself has a lot of projects and looks like it is turning into more of a corridor and part of the urban core rather than just a residential street that has more traffic than average. This starts down around Spring Garden Road with the College Street and Spring Garden West developments. It adds up to thousands of new residential units and millions of new square feet of built space. Robie is also to become a transit corridor.

From an urbanism perspective I think Halifax would feel a lot more expansive and interesting if the various currently semi-disconnected pedestrian nodes were connected more. The most obvious "gap" being between the Gottingen area and downtown, but there are many others. With relatively small changes you could imagine the downtown part of Spring Garden transitioning more seamlessly over to a university village feel around Coburg Road and connecting up with Quinpool more than it does. I'm curious to see how business picks up in the coming years as so many new residential units have been added and the effects of the pandemic recede.
