I don't have it to post but I saw a shot of Fenwick Street that featured the still-under-construction concrete skeleton of the 4 storey street-fronting structure that is a part of this development.

In addition to the tower one of the renderings shows 3 other small infill buildings (and what looks like a southern Asian theme with large palm trees):

That skyline is what Dartmouth will look like in 40-50 years, once Halifax is done.

It's a bit closer to grey-black in person. On the East side, between this building and the Shoppers, is what appears to be an elevator shaft for the next building to go up.

Bit too expensive for a unit with a windowless bedroom and no space for a table or desk.

Welcome to renting in Halifax 2020. I saw a listing the other day for a similar price, with a half fridge and no stove.

Not intentional according to Templeton.

Cladding is wrapping up on the Aya, looking a little different from the renderings.

Why is it that whenever the final result differs from the rendering, what we get is worse? Although it seems as though the materials used were as advertised, the rendering incorporates much more window and appears like a much more attractive addition to the street. Disappointed.

This could be the ugliest new building in Halifax in 2020. If built as rendered it wouldn't have been the most beautiful for sure, but wow, what a difference a few design changes can make! Losing the multi story glass and top floor setback and the addition of the overly heavy roof brow line make this building look mean and institutional.

This would be an above-average building in Burnside. In this location it’s pretty inexcusable.

More steel going up for the smaller structure on Fenwick.

Is that one going to be commercial? It reminds me a bit of 5540 Kaye Street.

Yah the only thing they kept is the stair step facade and the (now out of place) vertical brick strips. The lack of contrast between the metal and brick isn’t helping either. As for the glass curtain wall, the designer should have known better than to even propose that. Even if they could afford it (so much more expensive that regular windows) that would make soundproofing between those units very challenging. That’s one reason you rarely see curtain wall windows in residential.
