I don't think anyone posted this link to the website:

http://www.gorsebrookcondos.com/

Looks very attractive and is in a great location. Of course the Councillor for the area was dead-set against it.

I don't know the pricing but I suspect it is not for the faint of heart. Having said that, the first phase is virtually sold out and phase 2 is at least half sold already.

I think it looks great as well. Definitely one of the better quality builds as of lately.

I saw prices online for the units - and IIRC the one bedrooms started at 300K and the Penthouses went for 900K

Appears to be a very attractive and highly desirable place to live, the kind of development we should be looking to attract. Sadly this was vehemently opposed by the councillor for the area. Residents should remember this at election time this fall.

I wonder if the intent is to keep Wellington as a relatively quiet residential street.

I find most of the South End lackluster in terms of shops and businesses. There's a conspicuous lack of cohesive commercial stuff south of SGR/Coburg relative to the level of density. And its 2 grocery stores are generic suburban style boxes with large parking lots.

Is Pete's SGR considered south end? Certainly that is not as you describe the two others.

The old Halifax-Neighbourhood-Debate... It's a good question, and I suspect you'll get lots of differing opinions. I would classify Pete's on SGR as downtown, with South End being... further south. Exactly where the dividing line is, I don't know, but I think character of downtown vs. south end changes somewhere in the vicinity of South St or University Ave/Morris St.

Does the new building next to Peter Green Hall have a name? Gorsebrook Park II? Is it being built by Urban Capital as well?

It's done by Banc. I don't believe it has a name, but here's the details:

Did Mason also oppose this, as he did the previous one?
