You can blame the podium on those in charge of determining if this building meets the Michigan historical street wall qualifications lol

They did do soil testing last month or so so I think this one may sneak in.

They will see it from Grant Park and see the gap in the tooth filled further south.

To me that's the most important part of this project. Plus its a Jahn project so I

will take anything he has left in him at this point. Especially at this location.
That's an awfully nearsighted way to look at the development of a building that will be around (and have a prominent place in the skyline) for decades to come.

I saw something similar in a FB comment from 1000M, though groundbreaking isn't the same as foundation of construction.

Waterview Tower had a groundbreaking ceremony too.

I remember reading that they are on a deadline to "begin work" by the end of the year. I wouldn't be suprised to see them "break ground" and let the site sit all winter

I was on the train and want to say I saw a tent on site?

It was just a glimpse and I’m not 100% sure, but I thought I saw a tent.

This seems like prime meme material. We were hoping for a Jahn signature building years ago, but we'll settle for a tent at this point.

I believe what you saw were the tents just east of 1000M in Grant Park, staging for Sunday's marathon events.

Wabash Side

So does the lot for this one go all the way back to Wabash or is that a separate lot? I've never seen a western street level rendering. Also, does anyone know who owns the lot immediately to the north behind 900 S Michigan? I just always assumed it was one of the universities over there land banking but wasn't sure. Guessing nothing huge would get built there but it just seems crazy that long of a stretch of Wabash is nothing just parking lots.
