Very nice scenes!

thanks it actually took much longer to make the rooftop garden on the Knotley Hotel.

btw, none of those scenes were permanent of course. they were only made for thse images and now they are gone. there will be some permanent scenes in the future though, like people, cars, and trees of course which i need to hurry and make (if i can't make them on my own i'll just use some from the 3D Warehouse).

Aha. All my scenes are permanent, which is possibly why I have so much lag...

I love it! I especially love your rare scenes, you sure love quality! I should really do some of those scenes, but it takes forever to load and rotate those cars.

thanks, i like the quality in everything except textures as you can tell, but i can't help it i find the texturing part both boring and agrivating.

so far, of all the things to do when making a city, i'd say the funnest parts are making scenes and making building designs.

the hard ,annoying parts are making roads, texturing, and making sure all measurmeants are accurate.

i hate when i find that measurments are off a little bit. i was zoomed in near my roads recently and, after copying and pasting tons of blocks, i noticed the intersection between every other block was overlapping because a measurement was off. i'm not even goonna dare try to fix it though. it can't really be noticed at all unless zoomed in really close.

a bunch of construction including new buildings and the first bridge. it is called the Wahkola Causeway and will connect Downtown to Beachside.

the bridge will have two causeways that stem from the mainland at Downtown and from the beachside. both sides will fork off into two seperate bridge spans, one running west the other east.

this building has been here a while but i finally found a purpose for it. it is the Otahita Stock and Options Exchange, or OtEx. it is 600' to the roof. it was originally a small brown 3 storey building from 1961 to 1995 when the new building was expanded on top of the old one. the OtEx trading rooms are in the old bottom part but it was completely renovated before it was added in.

the Goliath Bank Center. it is 283 feet to the tip. the design was based on Otahita's earlier ones even though it is a newer one.

The Knotley is a world famous five star hotel that many famous people have stayed at. it was built in 1948. the crane in the background is working on a new building. i modeled the crane too, so i'm sure there is a lot wrong with it since i just made it by looking at other crane models. all the cranes in the other pictures are the same one that i made (on the Wahkola bridge and all over the city.)

thanks guys

that's a great idea Mocholate! i will do an emergency scene real soon... perhaps a bank robbery, but there would have to be more than one picture. before the robbery, during the robbery, and when the police save the day. it will be like a picture story, or maybe a comic book with word bubbles! i've thought about doing that before. maybe even a superhero?? lol now i'm gettin real excited about the city.

well here is a Google Earth styled map of above the Otahita area:

and here are some new skyline shots. that elevated road is a highway. i'm not sure if i'll use a real highway name like I-95 or US-1 or to make one up.

another view:

(the highway is still underconstruction. it needs pillars and much more. it looks like it's floating right now)

more soon to come!

The Goliath Builfing is defantly sexy.

My Suggestion: Trees! The Warehouse has plenty of 2D Trees, they dont slow the model down too much, they defantly make a difference

Okay, I will take up some of those suggestions.

This is the bridge completed (but could still use some detailing). I am calling it the Robert E. Lee Memorial Causeway, aka Lee Causeway or RELM by the locals.

the bridge was built in 1974.

it's going to be difficult, but i plan to make a total of four lanes merge on/off the raised highway just at the fork before the bridge.
