Yes, it will still be very impressive as you come from the east on I-40 or from the south on I-65. Especially I-40 which is being lined with high-rises. You get the impression of driving though a larger city.

An updated card, but with the original grey-scale rendering, for the Vastland-Avalon project in Nashville's Midtown. It is based on information from the Nashville Project Tracker with some specific descriptions. They are still in the early approvals stage.

This neighborhood at the iconic 'split' in Midtown is poised for some impressive mid-rise growth in the near future.

There are several projects set to rise in the KVB Roundabout neighborhood. Here is an unofficial illustration.

The new W Nashville in The Gulch is on the 15th floor and fills in nicely from this view from the north.

The pit for One22One on Broadway across the street from the 1200 Broadway tower is well underway.

The card for the project referred to. It is going to create an impressive little canyon on Broadway.

The 30-floor Embassy Suites and adjacent 18-floor 1 Hotel are starting to make some headway above the ground.

In the ongoing MAJOR rework and expansion at BNA, I haven't seen an update in quite a while.

As far as the new int'l arrivals facility (IAF), multiple gates have now been closed in preparation for demolition and new construction. The new terminal 1 garage opened last week, which also houses the airport's offices on top. Concourse D rebuild and opening is still on track for this summer, with Southwest Airlines taking all 6 gates, while they lose 4 temporarily to American Airlines as they shift over for the IAF construction.

Thanks, Sooner for all the above updates and pictures.

A bit of impressive news about the Four Seasons project; from Channel 4 News..

Quote:
In one single day, the Four Seasons pre-sold $80 million of property from its first roll out of private residences. The majority of owners are local, but Nashville’s draw has reached buyers from all over including California, Texas and even Japan.
This was in one day. I'm not clear if that was for all units (except penthouse), but $80 million is impressive.

Quote:
In the 40-story building, set to open in 2022, owners will have their own valet staff, access to a private pool, and other amenities offered by the Four Seasons staff.

“This building will be like a resort in the middle of a thriving urban setting,” Marie-Laure Frère, Director of Sales for the Four Seasons Private Residences - Nashville, said.

All units will be owner-occupied, so no rentals or Air B&Bs will be allowed.

The first 14 floors will be guest rooms. From there, signature homes, and penthouses starting on the 37th floor, with the Grand Penthouse taking up the entire 40th floor. Once completed, the Four Seasons will be one of the tallest buildings in downtown Nashville.
The 'Grand Penthouse' is available for $25,000,000!

Makes you feel that there will be more high-end high rise condos put on the Nashville market, sooner than later.

In the video, the reporter mentions it will be the first 5 star hotel in Nashville and that's not true. The Hermitage Hotel has been a five star hotel for years.

Just a quick fact check. Nashville has zero five star hotels, actually. I think The Hermitage deserves to be one, but it isn't. Maybe this Four Seasons will become it's first. Who knows? But it can't give itself five stars before it even opens. It can't award itself five stars after it opens either, because that's not how it works. The star rating is awarded by the Forbes (formally Mobil) Travel Guide. I don't know where this trend came from of hotels rating themselves. haha

I wasn't aware that the Hermitage Hotel lost its 5-star designation, first awarded by Mobil in 2008 after a multi-million dollar renovation. It also was awarded the AAA 5-Diamond award in 2007. I had not heard they lost those designations.

A trip advisor site lists, not only the Hermitage Hotel, but also the newly opened Dream Hotel, as five star hotels. It doesn't say where the ratings come from. They are top flight hotels regardless.

Opening July 1st, the 3rd Virgin Hotel opens at the head of Music Row where Division & Music Square West (17th Ave S) meet. This has been one of my favorites to go up with its handsome stature, clean lines, and charcoal black exterior.

The Virgin Hotel looks nice, a modern-industrial vibe going on. Are those grey brick panels?

They sure are! I love it because it's very different and unique. It's color palate and location makes it very imposing.

Kinda surprised that JW Marriott is not 5-star.
