Remus city has many new buildings.

On the left is Grand central station. On the right are two banks, one old style and one new style.

A new sky park, I'm not going to make very many of these.

I've decided to make at least part of downtown more open and less dense.

This building has an opening in the top, I don't really know what this is really called.

Gasp! Is that a parking lot in the middle of downtown?

I'm going to put the mile tall super building here is this square, what do you guys think? is that a good place?

Well thats all, what do you think?

You've added more variation to the skyline. That's good. That old style bank building is especially to my liking. About the mile high building: maybe you should make a rough model of it and try different places where it could fit to find the best location for a balanced skyline.

I've finely found a new texture that I like for my mega complex.

Birds view.

I have not the time to make very many buildings this week.

Small buildings.

And now I'm thinking about restarting Remus city, does anyone think I should or should I just keep working on what I have so far?

Remus city restart!

Remus city has been reborn!
I've restarted my city, now I have wider streets and sidewalks!
I'm changing the layout of the city somewhat.
And I'm planing a river, shopping district north of downtown, theater district south of downtown, a smaller secondary business district across the river and since this city is the fictional twin of Rome, an ancient district with roman-like buildings!
Here is all that I have done so far, the mile tall tower is going right in the middle.
The Grand central station is right next to the mega complex, which makes more sense.

The buildings north of the park have been improved, but with the wider streets some buildings are gone.

Here is a view from the park(I will make the park fancy)

Well thats it! I'm not going to copy the old buildings into the new file, the city blocks are different so they will not fit. If fact the world trade center has been made a little thinner and sixty feet taller
Please tell me what you think, I've learned a lot from the first Remus city, and have great plans!

Looking forward to seeing this edition develop. The blocks on the short side of the park look very small. You should consider combining them to make it look more realistic. My favorite building so far is the one in the middle of the short side of the park; it has a nice, slender shape.

Ok so I'm now redoing the financial district.
Here is a birds view, showing the main streets.

Here is a diagram of the tallest buildings, I'm salvaging them from version one.
Here are the building I have transferred so far, they are banks.

Here is a view where you can see the new buildings.

Here are some small businesses.

Here is the skyline

Well thats all for now,I'm going to do one section at a time

I agree with Vellu - those blocks look way too small, combining them would def enhance the realism.

I also suggest putting in more pre-war buildings, where is Remus located anyways? I see palm trees so if it's on the west coast then the modern to pre-war building ratio seems about right.

I have finished the first section of downtown, before I do the next I'm doing the park and finishing the cathedral.

Here is the city's largest bank, it is seven hundred and eighty feet tall!
That whole street is going to be lined with banks large and small.

Not every building can be a super-tall

Her is the next section I'm doing after the park and church, I hope to have my sky-farms there.

Well my class is tomorrow, so I may not have time fore Remus city until Friday.

I've started the park!
I wanted to put frogs in my pond, but I cant find any models that I like.

Here is a rare plant that can grow almost sixty feet tall in the pond! ( it's not real, its only in Remus city)

Here are some of the plants near the pond.

Here is a very old oak tree

Here is an unusually large pine tree.

I would love to walk around a place like this!

All those palm trees

Here is the much smaller pond.

Another part of the park. That skyline is going to be amazing!

Despite how well this part has turned out, I don't know what to do with the rest of the park I'd like some suggestions.

Well that's all I can do for now.

SkyDragon,

You have some nice textures going on there!

I would suggest adding some hills in the park and even in other parts of Remus. I think it would add a new dimension to your city!

I'm going to put hills in the areas immediately around downtown and in the park.
The park is going to have lots of trees in the north, and hills and a zoo in the middle and south.

Here is the art institute.

The art institute's court yard my plants dont show up very well, so I may just leave the court yard empty.

I did't have much time for my city this week, I hope to finish the park tomorrow.

The Art Institute is a good addition to the park.

On a side note, I suggest you move those plants and trees on a different layer right from the start (if you haven't already done so), so you can hide that layer when you're model starts to lag. Vegetation is usually quite polygon heavy.

Yea I'm getting lag now, how do I put the plants on their own layer? and then how do I hide and on-hide that layer?

Anyway here is the park, The blank area on the left and the middle of the park are going to be where the city fair will be held, I'll put some fair buildings there.

Instead of the bean, there is the sphere

Now here is a fern tree, another plant I have in real life there is a kapok tree in the background.

Thats all for now.

I've finished the park! and figured out how to use layers

The north part of the park. Those smaller buildings are for the city fair, and the gray paved areas are where they set up the rides and other stuff for the fair.
And although it's hard to make out, that green area next to the fair buildings is a raised structure that has the city's bizarre bazaar under it.

Here is the middle of the park. with nice trees and a lake.

And here is the zoo! It has an aquarium, reptile emporium, mammal house and bird aviary, they are the four main buildings in the center.

I only have time for these views right now, but if anyone would like to see a persons view of any part of the park I'd be glade to get it
Well thats my park, I could not do the hills right so I just made it like this, what do you think?

Nice to see you are putting in more than just skyscrapers but actual places for your citizens to go to! I suggest switching to 2D face-me trees as they take up less space and you can put more of them, because as of now that park is looking a little sparse.

Thats a big park, reminds me of Chicago's Grant Park in scale and the mixed uses.

Well I've put the cathedral into Remus city!
Here is a view from the zoo.

Here is a fern tree near the cathedral.

Here is where the cathedral is.

I was always planning on it being there.

I've put some more trees in the park, but it is not going to be a forest.

Well that's all for now, please tell me what you think.
