Also everybody chill, we are just joking (aside from the fact that the guys in the pic are hot)

Hmmm, if the stripes continued all the way up and the balconies were inset it would be a win, but as it stands... womp womp.

I actually like it and the balconies don't bother me at all. Also Mirvish will be almost directly behind it so this building will have less of an impact with a neighbour that towers 500 ft above it.

I don't like the column of balconies that much either. I don't see a purpose in insetting them. It's either keep them as a vertical design element or get rid of them entirely.

They don't bother me but it does seem odd only having one unit per floor with a balcony. I don't recall what the south west sides look like.

Ugh. This one is brutal. There's pretty much zero cohesion between the 7(!) different exterior design elements. Maybe it'll look better in reality than the rendering, but that's hardly the case.

It would be so much better if they just didn't do balconies.

In Vancouver, or any other city that values maintaining order and harmony, this would look like a dog's breakfast, but in Toronto this pastiche of clashing styles kind of works.

Wait ... order and harmony in Vancouver .. what?

Incoherent floor plans to differentiate "penthouse levels" and throwing everything they can at facades and seeing what sticks including protruding boxes seems to be par for the course there too. Ian Gillespie is developing this afterall.

I actually don't mind it either (at least relative to some of the other projects in the vicinity) but I do agree with those who say it could stand to have a bit less stuff going on. The main thing they should eliminate is the red logo at the top and the protruding box. The second biggest issue is the, for lack of a better word, "simulated partial set back" created by the change in texture from the ghost tower white/silver to the grey/black cladding. They could have instead carried the ghost tower cladding all the way to the top and not done the balcony colour change fade.

But really, they could have eliminated the upper tower part altogether and just made the middle white part 12 stories rather than 6 and have that be the full extent of the project. Or perhaps stop the tower part at the point where the simulated set back begins. I know this might sound like heresy, but not every single project in a central area needs to be a tall tower.
