These shots would be terrific - if there were people in them. It's not a commentary on your photography as much of a simple reality check that downtown still has a ways to go.

It's like 3 skyline shots at night, how many people would you see. Amazing photos - you should do an entire thread.

I see a vacant LRT station (with a train even at the stop) and an empty Arizona Center, both are public areas that one would expect to see at least a few scattered pedestrians, even at night. I say this because I have been to both at night several times getting coffee at Fair Trade or seeing a movie at the AZ Center.

I'm not ragging on the photos, they are terrific. Just eerily quiet.

On the plus side - it's good to see all those lights on at the Sheraton.

Yes, DT has a long way to go, however, take a walk during business hours on a weekday and it actually seems somewhat like a city. It would be nice if there was more desire for people to live DT and we had that much pedestrian activity at, say, 9pm though.

Sure, there could be [more] people out. But anyone who has been paying attention can tell you there are noticeably more people out on the street downtown this year. Light rail, ASU expansion, convention center, and new businesses have made a difference. Keep hitting the streets people!

Don,
Where's that link to your flickr page, or website. You put it up a few weeks ago and I meant to go look, then I forgot to do it.

www.aroundphoenix.com

I'm also on facebook, but I haven't had a chance to upload many photos there yet. I'm about to install Windows 7 and I have been evacuating everything to the lifeboats.

To all of you: Thanks for your comments.
