I agree. Kind of sad really.

I took this photo on Sunday. They are tearing down the old Dive Shop. This is the site of the old Gateway Green proposal. It would have been Victoria's tallest office building. Too bad, it would have looked great there.

What are they building there instead? Or is it just being torn down and the lot left vacant?

Hey Zahav... I was told by Zoomer that they are just making a parking lot sadly...

Wow. This looks terrific!

At the end of the day yesterday I was able to fit a few minutes in to take some skyline shots of Victoria from Mt. Tolmie. I've been so busy in my landscaping business that I've had hardly anytime to take photos. I thought I'd share them on here tonight. The last photo is a zoomed in shot of the Olympic Mountain Range in Washington State.

Regarding the Janion, I'm really happy with how it turned out. I think it looks beautiful and a great building.

I also spent about four hours today walking around Victoria taking photos. I took over a hundred photos today. I uploaded just over ten tonight and thought I would share them here. I find that every time I go downtown to take photos, I always find new things to photograph. I was really needing to do paperwork for my business today but I decided to take the day off instead.

I was talking about how the building sat vacant and derelict for decades not how it turned out, which I agree is nice

It's weird how that new apartment building at Johnson and Quadra has so few balconies so from many angles it looks like an office building

Interesting... I really like that new apartment building but didn't even think of that. You are right it's got such few balconies. I wonder why that is?

I uploaded a few more photos from my walk around Victoria yesterday. I thought I'd share them on here again.

As usual, great set of photos, and thank you!

Regarding the Janion: love that building, plaza and the new restaurants attached. That area has surely attracted a lot of attention after the Janion was completed, especially with the installation of the new Blue bridge.

I'm also glad to see that the new plaza/landscaping upgrade in front of the Legislative Building has been completed. Looking world class!

Thank you Vin...
I also uploaded some more of my Victoria photos that I took earlier this week, tonight onto Flickr. I've posted similar photos of these before but still thought I'd share them.

I took these photos last week. Some new developments happening in Victoria. It's nice seeing the city grow so quickly...

This is going to be Victoria's second tallest building.

If approved this will have Victoria's first building over 30 stories...

I was happy to find my old Via rail photos that I took in August of 2007. I really hope they restore this old line for an LRT line in the future. I wish I had taken more photos of the old train too. I have a lot of the old blue bridge though.

Why must good things come to an end in BC cities? Sigh.

I still think a commuter rail line is essential in Victoria.

I agree with you on that. Especially as the rail corridor is already there for it.

I took these three skyline photos of Victoria on Monday night. I wish I took a few more as the lighting was pretty good and the air was clear.

Not too familiar with the existing infrastructure but is there not some way they could run a light schedule, almost one way rail line like the West Coast Express does with the Fraser valley to Vancouver?

The proposal for the Harris Green Village sure has changed in the last year and a half, this is what was originally proposed in December 2019, three buildings ranging from 17-25 stories:

Apparently the proposal is now calling for three towers from 23-32 stories which means the shortest of the three buildings will dwarf View Towers:
