Arrow DALLAS| KDC /Hoque Global Skyscraper Campus (7 towers, 78 Floors 1100+ Ft)

Just read this online. Any ideas on how likely it is to be built?

Can we make a better post/thread for this? Come on. The tallest building proposed for this development would be in the top 10 tallest in the United States, and probably the tallest west of the Mississippi*. Also, it's called the Dallas Smart District.

Also, don't be underwhelmed by the boxy look of the proposed towers. Merely placeholders for the rendering, showing the scale of the towers. Cesar Pelli will be designing the towers.

*Articles state that it would be 200ft taller than Bank of America Tower in Dallas, making this tower around 1120-1130 feet.

Located between Dallas City Hall and Interstate 30, the eight-block urban project would include office towers, retail and hotel space. It's one of the largest developments ever proposed for downtown.
Award-winning international architect Pelli Clarke Pelli designed the dramatic campus.
I wonder if this is to lure Amazon. And will it still happen if Amazon doesn't happen?

I have always thought that taking some of the surface lots near city hall and making it a park would be a great move. Adding these would make downtown a destination for sure! I'm assuming they would either relocate or build a new fire station where the 1120' tower would rise. Also, it would be a spot Amazon could locate into with DART nearby and adding to revive the connection between downtown and the cedars.

I've been holding out hard for a project of this magnitude in Dallas, which I feel has seen fewer impactful skyscrapers add to its skyline during the current cycle...in comparison to both what's already built in Dallas, but also in comparison to what the other big cities in booming Texas have seen. Instead, construction of mid-rises and shorter high-rises in areas like Uptown/Victory Park have been the dominant force, as well as densification in edge cities like Plano, Las Colinas, Frisco, etc.

Not only would this be a significant, deserved boost to the overall profile of the Dallas skyline, but opens up the possibility of both another cap park over I-30 and taller buildings in Cedars. I always felt that Cedars would next to capture the sort of rapid growth in other downtown adjacent neighborhoods.

yeah, dallas has one of the most static big city skylines in the nation.

only one of its 25 tallest buildings has been built in the last 30 years.

this project would be a huge, redefining boost to the city's skyline.
