Footbal at 20 below (Celcius, that is)

Some pics from the Canadain University Football champeenship played in Saskatoon last Saturday. This was the first time the event was held outside of Ontario. The worst case scenario with the weather came to pass. Normally it's a scorching -5°C this time of year -- perfect for football. With the windchill it dipped into the -30s.

Beardman's pictures are far better, but he won't share them with you.

Cheerleaders. Humma humma!

Nothing like an ice cold Coca-Cola.

Yes, one of the teams was indeed the Huskies.

I'm guessing the video screen won't be a permanent fixture.

Wicked. There is something extremly special about events in bone chilling cold. It's great to see the Vanier cup held in a place that cares.

Actually, it's not a palm tree. That's the provincial flag of Saskatchewan, and it's a Western Red Lilly, the provincial flower.

Man, it looks cold! Nice pictures.

Great to see that the fans turned out. I guess they must really love their teams. Thanks for the chilly pics.
