Some random stuff from around the yard.

Just some random stuff from the last few days.

Actually a toad.

Petrified wood.

A piece of fluorite. My dad worked at a rock shop out in the Hill Country years ago.

A piece of quartz crystal.

I don't remember the name of this stuff.

Another shot of the moon. I had gone down to my old high school the other night to try and see Endeavour and the ISS in orbit, (we didn't, it was too low), but the moon was out so I took a few shots of it.

Thanks for looking.

Your yard is so cool. The rocks are awesome and I thought my parent's were the only ones with petrified wood in their yard.

Yeah, I'm not complaining. They eat the mosquitoes.

Thanks, HIMS. Yeah, my dad worked at a rock shop out in the Hill Country west of Austin with an old friend. Besides the gems and minerals he got there he also collected pieces of petrified wood from the ranch. That stuff was literally just sitting all over the property. We have one piece in the backyard that must weight 100 pounds and is as big as a beach ball.

Nice textures in these shots. Good idea to go out and look at things in your own backyard.

I have a pond just filled with frogs and fish in my backyard. They can make a load of noise at night.
