This really is a striking building, and really dominates everything around it. I'm looking forward to it becoming a little more of a cluster, with Symphony Square, and whatever else starts to fill in around it.

. . . and maybe the Mirabeau? Eventually? A guy can dream i guess.

This and Dorsey are going to make a fascinating pair once the brick starts to really get going on both.

The jury's still out on that gray brick. I hope it ends up looking okay.

I don't know if its the same material, could be cinder blocks, but Seaholm Condos, and Zach Theater have that same color brickage which I did not like at first but don't mind now. It sort of looks unfinished, but since it looks to be just an accent, its kind of serves as an interesting contrast on all three. I think it will look fine.

When I last drove by, I think it was actually small bricks.

But, it doesn't exactly look like a typical brick, just because of the color. Either way, it's pretty rare for a brick building to look too ugly, so this will probably be fine.

Except for Jester dorm, RLM, or any other UT building from that era.

True, although I'd say those are more the exceptions rather than the rule...

An FAA permit was posted for the building with a height of 358 feet. I'm not sure if there's been a tweaking of the height or not, and we might not know unless we see another set of elevations or until we can measure it with Google Earth.

This view confuses the hell out of me. I guess it is the curvature of 1-35 coming over LBL. The view makes it look like UT Tower is south of the Alexan.

You're right. It's an interesting perspective.

10 more floors, 10 more floors, 10 more floors... why is it that I always want 10 more floors??? Don't get me wrong, I really like this building. Its just so sad when they are all grown up and there's nowhere else to go. Its so.....final.

I think this one is a good height for the area. There's not much over 150' around this area, much less 350'. That probably won't change for quite a few years. It already towers over the area, which isn't bad at all, but this is pretty much the starting point for more development here.
