Wink One year in Detroit.

This thread has no rhyme or reason, just a collection of photos I’ve taken of my city. Hope you enjoy!

For a more in depth tour, see my thread from January here

Nice tour. As this shows, and it goes without saying, parts of Detroit are actually quite attractive.
The colours in this shot are lovely:

Nice shots. I love "a year in the life of" type threads. Are a couple of the snowy ones toward the beginning taken at Wayne State?

Thankfully the picture sizing problem has been fixed.

Thanks for all of the positive comments, everyone!

Me too, this is my second one. The first was in Morgantown, West Virginia. Indeed they are from Wayne State, specifically the eleventh floor of the Towers dorms at WSU. I'm a student there.

There are at rush hour coming out of Downtown and Midtown toward the suburbs and northern parts of the city, but I'm a cyclist, so thankfully I don't have to worry about that.

Great pics! Keeping it real.

Fond memories of sipping Margaritas at the Renn centre..Greektown, the Palace etc.Cheers to Detroit getting up off the mat, dusting itself off and making the inevitable comeback..Classic American city.

Really like the Campus Martius pan. It's crazy how much the creation of the park re-focused the energy of downtown. It's a pretty rare setting to have so many paths meets at one place like that in the country. Before C-Mart, you had to hold municipal events at places like Hart Plaza, which were too large, or in one half of Grand Circus, which often felt out-of-the-way. Nothing ever felt centered or appropriately sized. It's really going to be something when adjacent Cadillac Square is further pedestrianized, and the streetcar loops around the square.

Really like this one:

Detroit looks so much better from the sides when you can see the depth of the skyline as opposed to the waterfront.

Absolutely gorgeous architecture!!!

One of the great American cities. Wish we had a replica of the venerable Penobscot Building in our downtown!

At least the Christmas lights are still on.

They should put a sign saying South to Canada, get a couple tourists lost.

These pics prove Detroit should still be much better off than where the city is right now

Hard times for a tough town but she still wakes up every morning

Great shots laddy
