Looking forward to the Oilers losing a game against a team that is on a back-to-back traveling a few time zones out of their area. Maybe another 3-2 overtime loss?

Me too. At this point looking forward to a draft lottery win. I don't want the point.

I could really go for a redo of the 2004 cup final, just with a different outcome.

The Oilers have huge salary cap issues as it stands, winning the draft lottery will completely screw them.

No it wouldn't. Players make next to nothing on their entry level contract. The 2nd contract is where the issues start but that is so far in future it's not even worth worrying about.

^ Exactly, and by the time they are ready for the 2nd contract, a lot of the salary burden they currently have will be gone.

How else are they going to justify trading McDavid for a top-nine defenseman so that he can be MVP again?

^Connor could probably do with a vacation from the Oilers. Don't suspend him, that'll teach him.

I'd give him five and tell the refs to call at least the more blatant stupidity he deals with every game.

He probably gets 2 though.

I'll be surprised if he gets 1 game for that, it was dirty but not super intentional. Hi was finishing his check, just happened to be a little bit too high. I say he gets a fine and carries on with his shitty team lol.

Is Ottawa run worse than the Oilers right now? I think so because the Sens have had success recently (Game 7 of the conference final 2 years ago!) while the Oilers have been mired in a decade of futility (aside from one fluke season) with no end in sight.

I did not see that coming. So it's all in to try and get the 8th seed in the East and get hammered by Tampa Bay? Sounds like a great plan. Better hope for 7th or 6th Columbus.

Duchene for 2 prospects and a conditional first round pick, big win for Columbus!

Probably would be my answer. Although that playoff was a fluke based on a 36- year old goaltender and 8 goals from Pageau and a ridiculous playoff from Karlsson. There were some holes on the team, but not as many as now, but there was an owner that wouldn't pay to fill them while Karlsson was still good.

The commonality is bad ownership.
