Yeah, the river trails here only opened on Jan. 12. Local skating rinks opened up earlier, around Christmas give or take a few days.

I guess it's better than nothing since last year the river trail didn't even open due to a weird freeze that made it unsuitable for use...

I was completely unaware of Galt Arena Gardens until today, but came across its facade on twitter and thought it deserved to be shared. It is apparently the oldest still-operating arena in Ontario, possibly Canada, dating from 1922.

She's a beauty, but I wonder if it's slightly-hidden location tucked in behind Soper Park is why it may not be as well known as other rinks in mid-size cities?

I think that's partly it, but it's also not really much more than a community rink now, while in the past it held a more important role hosting an OHL club.
