^^No announcement, no party, no tree and it sure looks like there's one more round of x-bracing framework to go on the renderings. Given it's the city's new tallest (by far), you'd think somebody would be celebrating.
But we'll see. We are certainly close:

The next phases of the project scheduled for 2016 include topping off core walls in early November and topping structural steel in March 2017. The base core and shell work will be completed in the second quarter of 2017 with plans for tenants to take occupancy in fourth quarter of 2017.

I believe there is one more level of x-bracing to come.
I'm pretty sure the photo linked below was taken this morning. Pretty sharp angle on those beams, which to me, would signify that last X-bracing bringing the crown to it's final and thinnest point.

this is looking great & it's nice to see that construction is progressing at a reasonable pace; back here in Philly they topped off the roof level of the CTC two months ago & for all practical purposes stopped vertical construction - there's a couple hundred feet of cooling tower & lantern to be erected but we've been stuck in gear pretty much all of 2017

Yeah I've been following the progress of the Comcast Tower and litttle frustrated by slow progress as well. Not unlike 181 Fremont here. But it did seem like it took SFT forever to finally go vertical.
There's now some kind of horizontal framing on the top of the central tower structure that I don't recall seeing on lower levels. I'm guessing this is the top of the building. I think we are there.
I see no extensions to connect anything up further, so that looks like the central cap piece. They have just added some horizontal members at the top of it. I'm not entirely certain, but the perimeter columns may be slightly taller, so wait for that. The top two levels have another partial level on top of that for the very top of the crown face.
When a city's new tallest surpasses the previous one (in this case Salesforce Tower with Transamerica Pyramid) does that mean Salesforce Tower became SF's new tallest on October 14 of last year or does it make it the new tallest today? Or will it make it the tallest until it's officially complete?
Actually until recently, the tallest "structure" in the city was Sutro Tower.
I also think that there will be one more X-ring before it tops out.
Again, I really wonder if there will be some kind of window-washing apparatus hidden in the very top of the crown like the ones on 399 Fremont and/or the Lumina Towers. Those hundreds of windows are not going to magically wash themselves. --maybe some day by drone ;-)
I notice that John King is posting pictures from inside the crown. Since the skyline will be dominated by 415 Mission, I really hope the owners reconsider the appeal of an observation deck in the crown. I think that the area above the core will be pretty fantastic from both the views inside and out.
