You can't see in through windows during the day really. At night you can, when the lights are on inside, but in that case you just close the blinds...

I stayed at an old Holiday Inn in downtown Manhatten to welcome in New Years 1999 and the condo that we could see from our room was ALL glass. The bathroom was all window as was the back wall of everyone's shower. It was a site to see on new years morning.

At some point in life many of us just stop giving a shit about that.

Does core urban own the parking lot behind this?

Ritsman has said that Core Urban has been trying to purchase it. I hope that they do, because they would likely put a bar/restaurant on Young. Effectively extending the Augusta bar 'district' outward.

I believe the main objection is the loss of parking for the Medical Arts building but I'm sure Core Urban can have a larger underground and or above ground parking garage included with a certain amount of spots set aside for Medical Arts to make a tower work on the corner lot. It may have to be a taller tower to make it work though.

Medical buildings love their parking lots. I believe they own that lot and the one across Hughson as well. Core Urban said they've tried, and will hopefully one day get it, but they'll have to convince the Medical Arts building they either don't need all that parking, or that they can provide the parking underground. Seniors sometimes struggle to park in garages though, so surface lots are quite common around medical buildings for this reason.

medical buildings service primarily seniors, who are often more car reliant as they have mobility issues which make alternate modes challenging.

It's why hospitals still need massive parking garages even with sky-high parking rates. People don't take transit to medical appointments, generally speaking.

I think if the price is right, they would happily give up the parking lot. Also, it's unlikely the clinic actually owns the building. Probably just a tenant.

The whole building is full of clinics and other medical tenants. That's its sole purpose.

Someone once told me that the building is stilled owned by the family that built it back in the 1930s, but I'm not sure if that's actually true.

Yeah i'm just saying those medical tenants likely have zero say in what happens to the parking lot.

They've basically been having an open house every weekend for the past 3 or 4 months. They seem desperate for tenants. Likely priced too high.

I'm probably in the minority here but I hate that church in that last image I hope it gets torn down and more density replaces it one day. I hate how it looks and I usually love and appreciate church's not this one! And it breaks up what could be one long restaurant row.
