How much work is left for the Bay Meadows? Construction has been going on there for years, but, correct me if I'm wrong, I remember seeing a huge post here of someone who went touring the Bay Meadows and it looked plenty completed to me. Is there some sort of map of the entire proposed neighborhood that I could look at?

I think it was my post you are referring to, and the last time I was there it seemed about 2/3 done. Here is a rendering of the whole thing completed:

here is google maps, which is pretty up-to-date. the brown patch at the bottom is the one you can see being built in the last pic from my last post, and the one on the left is from the previous pics

Thank you for the updates! I was also reading about the new Hillsdale station and 25th Ave grade separation project; I had noticed while riding Caltrain that there were roads that seemed to dead-end at the tracks but looked like they were intended to eventually cross. This neighborhood is shaping up to be something else!

Also, is the development around Hayward Park related, or is that something separate?

right, eventually three streets (25th, which currently crosses at-grade; and 28th and 31st, which currently dead-end) will pass under the tracks.

... and Hillsdale station will be moved north to 28th Ave. I seem to remember that there is a bunch of development planned for the west side of the tracks as well.

Hayward Park development is separate. What is under construction now is Station Park Green, about 600 units. Caltrain also was trying to put something together for its parking lot on the site, and it looks like one more small project is also in the works.

Thanks for all the pictures and info! I know there was talk of closing Hayward Park for a while, and now that Hillsdale is being moved even closer to HP, do you think that will be considered again despite the new developments? San Mateo is the only city that has three Caltrain stations, I believe.

the tone of all the articles I read is that, because of the new developments, they won't close HP. most trains that aren't locals do already skip HP, and if I had to guess, I imagine that is how they will leave it. once the electric trains are running, stopping takes a bit less time.

Thanks for the info and quick replies timbad

Here are some updates from the projects in my Mountain View megapost earlier:

4880 El Camino
Excavation continues on this five story condominium:

The Sobrato development in Downtown Mountain View was just a hole in the ground when I last posted. There was a huge concrete pour a few weeks ago and is now rising fast:

Thank for you posting updates regarding Campbell @yakumoto!

I don't go down there (Milpitas area for me) so it's nice to see all that development!

8 cities fit for Amazon's second headquarters

San Jose mentioned here as a potential location for Amazon, which I think would be a reasonable candidate, but I don't think Amazon is looking for another West coast HQ.

Great news for Oakland. Finally at least one team is committing to staying. That would be just sad if they lost all three of their pro sports teams within a matter of 5 years.

Walking round the "Cove", SSF

Took a morning walk around the Cove this morning..

The new AC Hotel, SuccessFactors & Genesis development

Genesis Tower

The Retail area:

Foundry & Lux restaurant. There's also Bocce, Tennis, Horseshoes, BB court, etc.

Closeup of AC Hotel Signage. Did they just straight up use Helvetica? Unfortunately, the security guard wouldn't let me go to the front but it looks like its practically done.

Thanks for the on foot update, though please post your photos in a smaller format. The hotel is hideous, imo.

The First of Brooklyn Basin’s Two Affordable Buildings
October 2, 2017

With the first building of the massive Brooklyn Basin project – a 64-acre East Bay development which will yield up to 3,100 units of housing, 200,000 square feet of commercial/retail space and 30 acres of open space along Oakland’s waterfront – under construction and plans for the second building having been approved, the prodesign for the first of Brooklyn Basin’s two below market rate (“affordable”) buildings will be presented to the city’s Design Review Committee this week.

And as designed by HKIT Architects for MidPen Housing, the 86-foot-tall building to rise on Brooklyn Basin’s Parcel F (a triangular parcel bordered by Embarcadero, 7th and 8th Avenues) will yield 211 dwelling units and a garage for 192 cars.

Designed as two attached structures which could be constructed in two phases, phase one includes 101 units designated for families, with a mix of one to three bedrooms apiece. Phase two includes 110 units designated for seniors, with mostly one-bedrooms and a few twos.
