Stories of Shae Weber being pretty much done with hockey now due to injuries.

And the Kraken make their first trade. Tyler Pitlick to Calgary for a 4th rounder.

Ok I didn’t hear that. So much for Bergevin being a genius then.

Congrats to the Canucks on picking up the worst contract in the NHL.

Not because he wanted to be traded. Apparently he spoke with Jake Allen and then decided to waive his NMC.

Regardless, at the end of the day, it's Bergevin's call whether to accept the waiver and who to protect or not for the expansion draft.

You've obviously never seen Loui Eriksson's contract. We would have paid anything just to get rid of his contract. For 4 years now.

Montreal drafts the guy that asked to not be considered in the draft due to his sex scandal in Europe. I imagine there will be some interesting tweets coming out about this

Guy got fined in Sweden. He apologized for it. It was a dumb move by his part. He’ll live and learn. No need to ruin a career over it. Everyone deserves a second chance.

Habs were within their right to pick him, as a player can’t legally remove himself from the draft.

As usual, Habs news is straight out of a Lance et compte episode.

I am just not sure which one.

Apparently multiple teams still intended on selecting Mailloux in the second round.

Brutal by the Habs, especially bad when you consider that Bergevin was working with the Hawks when one of their players was sexually assaulted, covered up, and is currently going through the courts.

Eriksson expires after this season - OEL has six more years on his contract and he was probably the fifth best d-man on Arizona last year? And Benning wants him to be a #1? Not the same since his injury.

The guy wanted to stay out of the draft this year. His second chance was going to come next year.

Ya but we got rid of our 3 worst contracts and players totalling $12M. And gain a solid D man captain, and a good 2nd line winger in Garland.

Those contracts were expiring soon anyway. Garland's fine but he falls into the same group as Pettersson and Hughes which is: can't defend himself physically in rough areas. They've been able to put points up in the playoffs previously but once you start grouping a lot of these players together it becomes easy to shut them down. I like Garland, though.

I don't think OEL is a solid dman, and I don't think he really improves anything for the Canucks in either the short or long term. Can't emphasize enough how bad he was last season for the Coyotes. Vancouver's not getting 2016 OEL.

No but playing for a terrible team year after year can't be great for output or morale.
Thinking OEL will have a bounce back with a new better team with Swedes everywhere lol.

The guy is way off on ekmund Larsen. He trying to say that he is some bottom pairing guy and that is ridiculous. He is an upgrade for the Canucks, with a huge potential to regain his 8 mil per year form after playing in that disaster in Arizona.

The Canucks forwards are gaining Podkolzin, Garland, and Dickinson. We can put out 3 scoring lines at this point. It’ll be an interesting upcoming season. The Canucks are a vastly improved team.

Yup that's what I'm thinking.

Sounds good. Will come back to this comment in November or so, but I think we're in for some disappointment if we think the Canucks defense is better today than it was last season.

Vancouver were a worse defensive team than Arizona last season, just as an aside. He's a weak defender moving to a weaker defensive unit.

Although I do believe in second chances...

That's Bergevin for you!

This clown never cease to surprise me. Too bad COVID and Price have saved his ass those past 2 years.
