i love the shots with the stalinist buildings mixed in with the new buildings in moscow city.

about the federation tower: is the one almost complete going to be the taller of the two? when is the duma building supposed to start?

the almost completed one is the smaller of the two

this is June 24 status


regarding Duma... it has been supposed to have started for some time now, but after finishing some work in the foundation pit, for which Moscow government payed in advance, the progress stalled; I think they are still looking for an investor... it can restart at any time, and can be in limbo for a while too

I personally dislike the Duma building because by itself being far from a masterpiece, it is going to block the view of the Mercury tower, one of favourite scapers in this project

plus, i think the duma building is going to be red (at least in the renderings). which is unfortunate.

it is not a given it is going to be red, as you mentioned not even all renders show it red; it is possible that red will be mostly used in night lightening scheme, not the cladding

and it is debatable and to great extent a matter of personal opinion wheter it would be unfortunate... if it indeed turns out as red as in some renders; with long winters and a lot of cloudy weather bright colored facades are a good fit in Moscow

the most recent projection is that Duma will be completed in 4 years from now, i.e in 2011

it is pedestrian bridge Bagration across Moscow river, one of the first completed objects of the Moscow City
