It would be nice if Miami can finally get 1 of the 9 super talls proposed out of the ground already !

GIANT SALES CENTER IS NOW UNDER CONSTRUCTION FOR DOWNTOWN MIAMI’S 98-STORY SUPERTALL WALDORF ASTORIA

Quote:
Construction on a massive sales gallery for the 98-story Waldorf Astoria Hotel and Residences is underway.

The sales center is being built a block away from the Waldorf construction site, so that it can remain open during construction of the supertall tower. The Waldorf site is at 300 Biscayne Boulevard next to the X Miami tower, while the sales center is at 400 Biscayne, next to the construction site for a 49-story apartment tower that is currently rising.

The pre-fabricated sales gallery structure will include 6,144 square feet of space, with 20-foot ceiling heights, according to a construction permit. Total construction cost is $1,075,300, the permit states.

In August, a spokesperson for the developer told The Next Miami that the sales center will open in early 2020.

The $1 billion Waldorf tower will become Miami’s tallest at 1,041 feet above ground when completed. A hotel and luxury condos are planned within the tower.

PMG, Greybrook Realty Partners and S2 Development are the developers. The partnership obtained a a $33 million pre-construction loan from Bridgeinvest to begin work on the project earlier this year.

“The entire real estate industry is seeing a slowing time right now,” says Dan Tubb, senior director of sales at The Towers of the Waldorf Astoria. The project is still fielding inquiries from potential buyers, but clients are being more careful, he says. “People are being more cautious because they don’t know what’s ahead.”

“It’s virtually impossible for something like this not to severely impact every facet of the luxury sector of the housing market,” says Miller, whose widely followed market reports have been tracking luxury real estate sales in the United States for three decades. “And the longer this goes on the longer it will take to see anything resembling a recovery.”

The coronavirus and its economic fallout have left the broader U.S. real estate market scrambling to adjust amid lockdowns and travel bans. But real estate professionals in wealthy locations across the country say they fear the spreading contagion will deal the most severe blow to the upper end of the housing market, a sector that has long relied on a wealthy, globally connected jet set to help keep it afloat.

I hope so too!

A few in the pipeline but action has been slow. Maybe next boom, for other super tall proposals, although between the range of 200 to about 260/270 meters, Miami has done quite well, more than most cities.

Benefits of duel citizenship!

So when shit goes down here, Germany I suppose or Spain. Property so cheap for expats in Madrid. Hopefully Alemania no sale de la EU. Tipos de AOC tratando de arruinar a Alemania.

Is it safe to assume corona will kill this one?

Hotel industry is looking bleak right now.

I think anything in Miami that isn't already under construction is going to be put on hold for at least the next 5 years.

I'm just glad the Aston Martin Tower and 830 Brickell is currently going up. Don't think it would make sense to halt construction of both of those right now, would it?

Say goodbye to One Brickell City Center tower proposal or the Okan.
