I like... I'll be there, albeit briefly, in November.

Looks much like Panama City but maybe with less chaos and cleaner?

One of my employees is from Bogota and has been to like 60 countries and tells me that Cartagena is pretty much her favorite place in the world.

Beautiful pictures.

Thank you for a thorough glimpse at the old town's charm...I had no idea the city also had such a string of coastal highrises in the distance!

my eye opener! such astonishing urban layout, for all those slim buildings along line of slim beaches, never knew my SimCity design were a reality.

Wondering what their highrise district feels like at street level.
Summers must've focused on the old town almost exclusively, so we don't get to see it.
The old town appears to be very friendly, colorful and appealing.
It must be hard to beat for the modern high-rise area.

enough with the food photos. You know what people say when they witness others taking picks of their food... what a douche. The rest of your images are superb however so I will let it slide, but don't be that guy.

I don't think this guy does it the same way some do on social media.
I may be mistaking, it doesn't feel the same here.
He's not trying to show off. He's just kind of a foodie and his food and cocktail pics are colorful, informative and even pretty artsy.

I most often don't like seafood and I'm kind of turning a vegetarian, but I won't bother people about it and his food pictures don't bother me either.

I'm sad you feel that way, and surprised you would make such accusations of someone you don't know.

My wife and I are actually huge foodies. I'm not taking photos of my food to be a douche and brag. I also typically try to be pretty nonchalant and quick when taking photos of food.

I take photos of food because I feel as though cities and metropolitan areas are made up of way more than just buildings. If you ask most people why they're going into a city, it's to go to a restaurant, or grab drinks, or go to a museum or a play.

Cities are wonderfully diverse things, and I feel as though to fully capture what a place IS in photos, you should be capturing pictures of it's buildings, parks, people, food, drinks, museums, theaters... EVERYTHING. That's what makes up a city.... not just it's buildings.... and while I love architecture and good looking buildings, I find repetitive photos of just buildings to get rather boring honestly.

Either way, glad you enjoyed the rest of the photos. Maybe just ignore my future photo threads then if it's not your cup of tea because of the food photos?

Glad you enjoyed. We did not go to the highrise area. My buddy who was there before said it's basically like a Brickell or Sunny Isles type area. Since we were there for a limited time we focused our time on the Historic Core/Walled City, and Getsemani, as those seemed to be more up our alley.

Beautiful place. A bit of a Miami Beach vibe, with more history.

As for the food and drink photos, I say keep 'em coming! I enjoy seeing those mixed in with the sights of the places you show us.

Um, thanks for that. That's what I've done so far... Lol.

This is still supposed to be an architecture site, right? As far I go, I thought pictures of urban fabrics and buildings, sometimes taken to showcase details were the most relevant here.

I mean, posting pictures of naked women might as well be entertaining, I guess.
But no one should do that to this site.

No offense was meant! I apologize. I meant for me personally, if I were to post just buildings, it would bore me. I like to break it up a bit.

For some people, just the buildings and the architecture is what they enjoy and want to photograph, and that's great too. I just personally like to switch it up for what I want to post.

Yes, SkyscraperPage is a skyscraper and architecture website first and foremost, but it can also be seen as a celebration of cities and what the posters/members on here love and find interesting about their individual cities and the places they visit.

Colombia was very much off my radar until recently and I'm just blown away by what I'm learning. Thanks for posting these photos of a very beautiful and lively city.

Fantastic photos! So many people are always about the big skyscrapers, but the old town is very charming. I suspect the skyscraper part of the city is not nearly as inviting or interesting.

Growing up in the 70's and 80's it was pretty much imbedded in me that Columbia was not a place to visit. Your pictures sure make me want to visit Cartagena.
