United who was first to execute a merger in 2010 seemed to benefit from being a first mover in airline consolidation. They also benefitted earlier in the 2010's from strong foreign travel and a weak dollar. But with the dollar now much higher they're suffering a reversal of fortune from exchange rates and less foreign travel.

They recently struck a deal with a couple of unhappy larger investors giving them two board seats to prevent a proxy battle. Three current board members will retire. They seem to have lost their competitive edge.
Delta merged with Northwest two years before United merged with Continental, and Delta has almost consistently outperformed United since then.

Anyone else notice a growing homeless presence at the union station bus terminal ??

I would hate to see it turn into another market street station. Although, I overheard a homeless guy talking about how security always kicks them out of the station fwiw.

What do riders think about Denver's train to the airport?
Apr 22, 2016 by Cathy Proctor - Denver Business Journal
Quote:
Tim Logan from Tennessee ... gave his assessment.

“This is nice, clean and fast and smooth,” Logan said, adding that he planned to make his return trip to the airport a rail trip. “The windows are nice, you get a view of the Rockies."

And Logan said Denver’s new train was better than the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) trains in San Francisco. “This is more spacious, and you can’t beat the views out those windows. Look at those snow-capped mountains!”

Did you even ride the A Line yet? Yeah, didn't think so.

BART is total shit. I go get tested after every time I sit in those trains. If a contagion is ever to wipe out half of humanity, there's a good chance ground zero will be a train in San Francisco.

Nah, but I did go to the Rockies game last night. Took the light rail down and walked the 4 blocks over to the actual train station. Hundreds of people queued up just to ride a damn SEPTA train.

Bart may be dirty but at least it services parts of the city that have serious demand for public transit, and most of it is either elevated or underground.

Oh yeah, and it also goes under the bay.

Really not even in the same ballpark as a train that goes through a bunch of dirty factories and undeveloped brown fields to the airport.

With the Rockies struggling against the Pirates and the NBA game still in the 1st half I got restless and look what I found.
It's none other than TravelingJules. Not too shabby for 1:40 video. Nicely done, Jules.

Should we all know who TravelingJules is? Is she famous-famous, or just internet famous?

It's amazing the power of social media today. Just as Denver has been flooded by those who wish to see and experience legal weed, Denver could now see waves of people coming just to ride the train to the plane.

Hmph, the way that you "answered" his question was very Trumpian.

Let's recap:
Who is she?
Isn't social media amazing? Just outstanding!
