I have this turd burgler.

I HAD a nicer, older Panasonic Lumix and loved it. However i spent some time hanging around with the wrong type of people and it ended up stolen. Then, i bought this replacement Lumix above and it was promptly stolen.
So i bought another. It's cheap. But the quality is pretty low.

I plan on purchasing a $400-700 model next. Probably a mid range Canon or Nikon.

I sold my D90 and DX lenses back in August and upgraded to the D800.

It's been a few months now and the camera has surpassed my expectations and I couldn't be happier with my upgrade to Fullframe.

Now, the only lenses I have are the following.
Nikkor 20mm f/2.8 D
Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 D
Nikkor 85mm f/1.8 D
Nikkor 105mm f/2.8 VR Macro
Nikkor 70-300mm VR

Going to save a few more bucks and get the 24-70mm f/2.8, or maybe Santa will bring me one.

I thought I had noticed a sharp difference in your more recent work.

Say what you will, but I grabbed the Tamron 18-270 beast. Single lens travel - my bag is already too big!

Nice! Let's get some film up on SSP! I'm planning on getting a Contax G2 before my trip to Nepal this spring, always wanted a film camera.

I have an old Elan 7 in a box in my closet someplace if you're interested in using her. She'd love the attention.

I bought the same one a few weeks ago and I'm quite happy with it.

Congrats, it's a killer lens. Takes a little time to get used to, I'd recommend messing with it before you take off. I definitely messed up some early shots when I first got mine.

I rented it beforehand, and certainly noticed some weird idiosyncrasies with the lens. However, when that lens works as it is supposed to, it is incredible. And there isn't a better lens out there for capturing high-rises.

An example of the versatility:

I took both these shots at f/8, the shutter speed is slightly different due to the light changing but that won't affect the DOF. Ignore the difference in processing.

This one I tilted the lens slightly down so the focus plane was more in line with the mountains. I don't think you could get such a high level of clarity throught the frame with a conventional lens, even at f/22. I think most lenses start getting less sharp around f/8.

Same shot but this time tilting the lens away from the focus plane. Still at f/8 but I have a shallow DOF which is hard to achieve with a traditional 17mm.

The top shot was incredibly difficult since changing the tilt even slightly will affect the focus plane. I didn't have a tripod and so I had to hand hold the shot, zoom in to check focus, adjust the tilt, recompose, zoom in the refocus, etc.

Pack a tripod.
