Renelle has taken an inordinate amount of time to complete. Not sure why that one has dragged, particularly given its diminutive stature.

This must be the site of that failed American Invsco (remember that shady outfit?) tower proposal from last cycle.

City Club is also behind that small infill apartment project in the Loop on N Wabash as well....I've been wondering when that one will launch.

Can someone please explain why the Nobu has "that line/break" underneath the top floor? What purpose does it serve?

Copying the old, basic crown industrial design of buildings in the neighborhood, I suppose...

Now THIS is excellent news! That huge undeveloped lot needs to get something on it ASAP! I'm sure it's going to be a nightmare with the New York Condos tower filing probably half a dozen lawsuits over losing views, but screw those NIMBY jerks.

Cappleman seems to be pretty pro-development overall, so I'm fairly positive that this project will come to fruition, though perhaps a bit different than the proposal as seen in the Curbed article.

^ There is a legitimate lawsuit that can be filed in this case, though. A tower there will make it difficult for firefighters to access their building.

Oh wait, somebody already tried and failed that one. Time to come up with a new excuse.....

The New York building was originally developed as a two tower design. . . only one was built. . . there has been other proposals for that site since then as well. . . I wouldn't anticipate any issues unless they've down-zoned the property. . .

19 stories? Why shouldn't this location be able to sustain a true skyscraper?

Tenants? We don't need no stinking tenants...

Quote:
Looking to cash in on the area’s unprecedented development boom, Chicago-based Mark Goodman & Associates and newly announced New York-based partner Tishman Speyer plan to break ground on the structure at 310 N. Sangamon Street ahead of signing a major office tenant. Known as building on “spec,” the practice carries an added degree of risk—especially with no shortage of competitors in the works.
Also nice to see regarding this proj

The upcoming structure will also feature numerous green and energy-saving features in hopes of becoming the largest office building in the United States to comply with the rigorous Passive House standard.

I just sent him a message voicing support for this project and the Optima project even though it's just across the street in Tunney's ward.

Basically said, neighbors are good. Neighbors sit in bar stools and at restaurant tables when I'm not there. Neighbors are the insurance policy I have to keep my favorite establishments open when I'm not there.

I'm a NIMBY. "Neighbors in My Bar, Yo"
