The first time I saw the pool picture, I thought the depth signs were all in feet. 15' 5" deep and still no diving?

I drove by the Hyatt on Canada Street this evening and Carrabba's appeared open - there were people seated at the tables and it looked busy.

Now, I know that the restaurant isn't officially open, but was this a soft launch, or a friends and family event? Enquiring minds would like to know..........

Before opening, a new restaurant usually does a practice sitting with all their employees - kitchen staff, servers etc.. It's like an in house rehearsal before opening to the public. A friend of mine was working at Maverick's when they first opened and had theirs. He told me all about it. So that could be what was happening at Carrabba's.

I drove by on Canada st earlier tonight and snapped this photo on my phone. It looked like random folks were walking in. There was also a Wildcats hockey game at the Avenir. Lots of parked cars all over the place.

Seems to me that originally the Hyatt Place Hotel was supposed to have some ground floor retail space in addition to the restaurant. Did that change?

It would appear so, yes, there is no ground floor retail in the hotel. I presume there were no takers........

BTW, nice photo BlackYear

The only thing left for this thread (prior to retirement) will be reviews and maybe a couple of pictures of Carrabba's after it's official opening.

Carrabba's is now open. Initial reviews are positive!

This is their first location in all of Canada!

The wife and I visit Carrabba's when we winter down in Florida (although not this year ). Great food, pasta made in house and very accommodating towards allergens. Hope we can expect the same at the Canadian location.

Great question. Is it conference space/meeting rooms now?

I wonder if they saw the COVID writing on the wall early enough to pivot away from retail.
