It's always a nice walk along the Battery Park City promenade in Manhattan, even in the cold.
Since I was in the area and hadn't taken the walk in a while, I did so and took a few pics.
The Statue of Liberty is one of those New York icons that the average New Yorker takes for granted,
but it's always there, standing in the harbor, a symbol to and around the world.

It seems tragedy after tragedy always strikes the city, and even though the city always bounces back,
it was GREAT news last thursday to learn that another tragedy had been averted. It was the kind of news
that still makes you feel great. So it was no surprise to me to see the crowds of people all trying to get
just a glimpse of the plane that landed into the middle of the Hudson - intact - saving the lives
of all 155 people inside. Many thanks to the pilot & crew, as well as the various responders...
