I also have a pretty reliable source that tells me the apron going out from the Cargojet/Airport Cargo centre is going to be expanded out to the old Runway 30L/12R with a Capacity to hold 4 777s. Hopefully we see these on a regular basis at YHM.

I have also heard that and that the cargo centre is being expanded because in is already to small with trucks lined up to get in.

Swoop increased Halifax frequency in August to 11x weekly (just in time for the launch of Lynx's service to YHZ). St. Pete's decreased to 1x weekly in the summer.

Also looks like we got a confirmation of what routes are seasonal for the summer only...
Summer Seasonal: Charlottetown (YYG), Deer Lake (YDF), Moncton (YQM), St. John's (YYT),

Changes are bound to happen, but the core schedule for Swoop and Lynx is out for the winter! Happy to see consistency and see Lynx sticking around year-round!

Swoop Core Winter 22-23 Schedule

Abbotsford (YXX) - 7x weekly
Edmonton (YEG) - 7x weekly
Halifax (YHZ) - 7x weekly
Winnipeg (YWG) - 4x weekly

Las Vegas (LAS) - 2x weekly confirmed to be year-round!
Orlando-Sanford (SDF) - 4x weekly
Tampa-St. Pete (PIE) - 3x weekly

Cancun (CUN) - 2x weekly
Puerto Vallarta (PVR) - 2x weekly

Lynx Core Winter 22-23 Schedule

Calgary (YYC) - 2x weekly
Halifax (YHZ) - 2x weekly

From the article

Quote:
Hamilton is already serving 90 per cent of the passengers it did in 2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic – a level it didn’t expect to reach until 2023 or 2024, and which Ms. Carlucci said is higher than other hubs.
The 2019 passenger traffic to YHM was 955,373, so if Hamilton is already at 90% of 2019 levels, the Airport will definitely blow pass 1 million passengers milestone this summer.

Lynx getting their own wall branding at YHM for their 2-4 weekly flights.

My guess is that they have plans to expand YHM offerings if the airport is putting all this branding in...

This is just advertising, no? Most new airlines get a credit to advertise when they start a new airport. I would assume this falls into that.

Lynx Air starts on Wednesday. Looks like Halifax (YHZ) is going to be 4 times a week starting July 17 until Oct 30. Plus Calgary (YYC) at 4 times a week. Originally going to be YYC 4x and YHZ 2x a week.

Also in an article in the Financial Post, Flair is looking at returning to Hamilton.

The company is also forecasting a sunnier financial outlook, according to the CTA decision, with plans to expand its fleet and offer new flights from Lethbridge, Alta., Hamilton and London, Ont., to destinations including Puerto Vallarta and Tucson, Ariz., later this year.

If flair introduces Tucson, swoop will almost certainly introduce Phoenix-Mesa.

I'm hoping the recent chaos at Pearson helps drive traffic to secondary airports like Hamilton. I've flown three times this year from Pearson and it was frustrating compared to pre-Covid.

It already is from what I've heard. I've spoken to numerous friends and family and even friends of friends that have started flying from YHM because of how much faster and easier it is.

I really look forward to an eventual expansion of the airport in the future.

Hamilton is really growing into a mature city with a multitude of transportation options and reasons to visit.

The only problem Hamilton has now is that there is never any availability from our airport... I was forced to fly out of Toronto 2 times this year because Hamilton was booked solid . This is a great thing. But also not ...

Lynx has increased winter frequency to Calgary (YYC) to 4x weekly. Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday.

I'm still waiting for us to get non-stop service to YVR and Lynx is the only one that will do it.
