Another from The Spec (Jan 4): "Bayfront Rail Yard" painted by Susan Outlaw, created for LIUNA Station... I had no idea they have an art collection.

This is a very cool aerial photo - angle on downtown - highlighting old city hall and basically what was in place before "urban renewal" gave us Jackson Square

The Kraken, apparently abandoned off Bayfront Park for months. Ice may end up doing her in, if Transport Canada does not seize her (and I can only groan at the vision of some government staffer yelling you know what if she's sold off or even just cut free from her frozen anchorage when that part of the bay ices up)

Pier 4 Park today. Also from the Spec.

Now that these parks are approaching 30 years old, it's really great that the trees have matured. When I first walked through Bayfront after it opened (1993-94?) I remember thinking it would take decades for the trees to grow to substantial size. Yep, they did, and they're wonderful.

Nice picture from LaSalle Park marina. The compression from the telephoto lens really makes that ship and the steel mills loom large!
