How bout this site next to the Pigott building, the bus terminal and the church? As central as it can get, lots of heritage and infrastructure to consider, completes the block, and high visibility from Gore Park/King St.

They’re all good so far. I especially love the overall atmosphere of dleung’s and the curved white street interaction on urbandreamer’s.

I’d gladly take any of them here with no changes. But I’m leaning dleung so far overall.

I think this site is a fantastic suggestion! This site is a major hole in the core that would be nice to fill up.

Let's give ourselves ample time. How about close to the end of March? Maybe Sunday, March 28th?

Oops I just saw this new site. Wasted a few hours creating a design for 121 St Joseph's Drive:

Works for me. It really just comes down to finding a couple of free evenings for me haha.

Fair enough! I usually take a fair bit of time with mine because I try to put a lot of detail into the structure of my buildings and put the cladding elements on like a skin to see how feasible my design could actually be.

Really disgusting how Hamilton destroyed so much of its heritage building stock. I'm tempted to recreate the old facades but at the same time do something new.

Height isn't always the answer; however red brick usually is.

Today I was in Hamilton area so I did a drive by shooting of the site. I really like the Bell building around the corner.

Would you really want to live here? Breathing in the fumes from the idling buses?

red brick - yes!

That new student housing LiUNA building on James St North is an eyesore - won't be inspired by that blocky grey pos!

This is a huge site - easily 4 buildings.

I haven't started, but my idea has the same colour! Dibs on corten steel mesh cladding!

You really like that white base, eh? hehe

Are you using SketchUp? Like those setbacks.

dleung: not really obsessed with white/precast bases, this was just a 5 minute placeholder design. Corten goes well with red brick: https://images.adsttc.com/media/imag...jpg?1442316662

Are you planning a hammer motif on the corten steel screens set in a grid of red brick boxes?
I just did a little sketch to demonstrate:
